Services
It's important because, while we do offer Pilates, we also offer so much more than a traditional Pilates studio and it can be hard to figure out where to start or what's best for your goals without expert guidance. At Pilates Tonic, we help you discover the core connections and alignment in your body.
Pilates is a method of exercise created over 80 years ago by Joseph H. & Clara Pilates. Joe Pilates was born in Germany in 1880 and, as a young man, began a life-long study of health and physical fitness. Over many years of experimentation and implementation, Joe and Clara developed more than 600 exercises that they called the Art of Contrology, which today we call Pilates.
Restorative Movement sessions draw upon and include modalities such as Fascial Stretch Therapy (FST), the Smartspine System, Restorative Exercise, Core Intelligence, and Pilates. Using these different tools, I'll work with you to find the source of the problem and develop a specific movement plan that will eliminate or alleviate the problem and its pains.
A: I really enjoy learning a client's goals, and then, breaking those goals down into easy steps they can take to quickly reach them. Seeing the satisfaction in their faces and the differences in their bodies once they have reached their goals is my favorite part of my work. A: My specialty is definitely having an athletic background which I use to incorporate advanced fitness concepts and adjustments into private sessions.
A: I believe that private sessions offer both the client and instructor the opportunity to really connect and communicate with each other. This relationship encourages growth and mindfulness, and I love that when working with clients one-on-one. Private sessions allow me to work with a person to develop a program specifically designed for them.

I was skeptical at first of the "Foundations" class required before beginning classes, but really appreciated it when I had a better understanding of how the exercises should be done. I've been to studios from left coast to right and never had classes flowing so well from exercise to exercise. Nor have I had instructors with such an eye for keeping me from "cheating" and my alignment correct!

If you are looking for traditional pilates, that we all know works....dont go here. You will spend at least one session "being assessed" and pay for it...where you wont break a sweat...and then they will proceed to "teach" you a new way of pilates...which will not do anything for you. There is a reason the place is empty when you go in...and by the way...how about having hours for the working people who can actually afford your personal sessions..that means early morning and LATE day. Your 3 (yes 3) part time instructors are average at best.

So happy I found Pilates Tonic! The instructors really work with their clients to get them to their physical goals. If your needs are somewhere between physical therapy and an exercise class, then look no further. Pilates Tonic has wonderful customer service too. They really care about everyone attending their studio.

Pilates Tonic is such a find! The instructors are extremely knowledgeable about the human body and are great teachers so that you get the most from each exercise taught. Don’t let an injury slow you down they are great at adapting and providing movements that can help you heal and move pain free. The classes are small enough so that they get to know you and can fully support and challenge you. You owe it to yourself to take the Studio Foundation session and see what they can do for you!

This is a great place with attentive and dedicated instructors. The personal attention and small class sizes really create a great atmosphere for learning and improving fitness. The required private instruction (4 times) to learn the proper techniques and equipment was well worth the expense and a great learning expereince.

I'm brand-spanking-new to the world of pilates, and am already hooked! I'm trying to improve my posture and improve my flexibility and figured I'd give pilates a go. On a whim I called the gym to ask some preliminary questions and sign up for training, and my call was quickly returned and all of my queries answered. I take private training lessons with Ari and she's fantastic - she's super patient and encouraging and she knows her stuff. Ari takes time to explain various exercises both in regards to what movement I need to do as well as the outcome of the action as it relates

This is the Best Pilates studio in TN and possibly anywhere! They have a beautiful studio with state of the art equipment in a convenient location in North Shore Chattanooga (very close to downtown Chattanooga). The owner and all instructors are kind, patient and encouraging. They offer expert instruction and love what they do.

I take private lessons with Anne and I highly suggest you sign up to work with her asap! Anne is motivating, supportive and a wonderful teacher. I would also feel comfortable suggesting you work with any of the other instructors, as they are all wonderful and unique
