I was so happy so happy to find such a warm and intimate restaurant in our area. In the sea of big box, everything, a place like this is a smile to my soul. The food was fresh, carefully prepared and a joy. I didn't eat in today, but I cannot wait to enjoy the ambiance, the art and music with good company and food. I enjoyed the salmon and spinach sandwich so much-tender and buttery with a nice play if seasoning.

We stopped here for lunch today on a whim and we’re so glad we did. The food was excellent and the service was wonderful. They were out of items on the menu and brought out a complimentary appetizer of eggplant hummus instead. It was delicious! They even gave us extra to take home. The mahi-mahi with basmati rice was cooked to perfection, the salad was fresh & the homemade balsamic dressing was flavorful. We also had the tilapia and chicken pitas with homemade tzatiki sauce and they didn’t disappoint. We’ll definitely be back!

First time there and it will not be the last, food is delicious, fairly priced and the service is terrific!!
UPDATE: I can honestly say that I am sorely disappointed with our service tonight. We went in just to get dessert and go however, the owner talked us into eating in, not much of arm twister, there was a pianist the music was soothing and after a long day of driving was very welcoming and should have been an enjoyable experience. After we ate the dessert we had decided to actually eat dinner there, but the waitress never did come back to to even ask if we wanted anything to drink, eat, give

Heard so much about Charlotte’s Cafe and tried it today...was so very pleased. Cozy, quaint decor and atmosphere. Had the Vegetable Lasagna I’ve heard so much about and was delicious along with the side salad and bread...everything is made fresh right there! Friendly staff and great service. Highly Recommend!

This restaurant is definitely one of the best kept secrets of Newport News. I attended a going away dinner for a co-worker and was pleasantly surprised. Instead of playing music from a stereo, they had someone playing the piano. The prices were good, the service was exceptional, the food was amazing and the decor was absolutely beautiful. Just driving by and seeing it from the outside, you truly wouldn't expect for it to be a gem. Perfect example of not judging a book by its cover. I can't wait to return and try something else.
