Dr. Philip Manfield:I am a psychotherapist with over forty years clinical experience. Although a significant portion of my professional activity is devoted to EMDR training and consultation with other therapists, I still reserve half my hours for direct provision of treatment to clients. Over the years I have worked with and helped hundreds of individuals and couples through a wide range of difficulties.
My style is respectful, interactive and dynamic, I've learned that there are a lot of ways to help, to heal and to promote personal growth, and that no particular approach fits every person or situation.

Learning Objective: Participant will be able to describe the cognitive distortions that were part of the sessions they viewed and how those distortions resolved (equivalent to identifying the negative cognition and how it ceased to feel true). While the video is available to view for free, CE credit is available for purchase.

Clients' trauma-related fragmentation presents challenges for the EMDR therapist when dissociative responses complicate or disrupt trauma processing. The processing may appear to be going smoothly but, despite apparent success, doesn't result in resolution and completion for the client. Or the client may become flooded and de-stabilized.
