Established in 1988 Chili Willie's is a Morris County favorite. Chef owner Jose creates traditional Mexican specialties using family recipes handed down from "Grandma". Grandma lived in Texas when it was still Mexican territory. The recipes we use in our restaurant are the real "criolla" (native) Mexican food.
The secret to maintaining the flavor of grandma's authentic recipes at Chili Willie's is preparing our dishes with fresh ingredients (no cans). Our catering menu features our most popular dishes properly selected for off premises parties. We offer full or half trays. Whether you want to develop a complete menu or just need a few dishes to supplement your personal specialties.

We ordered Friday evening carry-out food.
The online ordering was a bit problematic... didn't have an option to specify a pick-up time... and it seems like there's not a phone number to call. Fortunately they called me and we got our schedules square.
The food is very tasty! And - the portions are big enough that every one of us has a full meal's worth of leftovers.
The place looked charming... little tables-for-two in little booths. I hope I can take the Missus there someday. (We're out visiting from Idaho... it's good to know of some fine Mexican fare here locally.) RECOMMENDED!

Food was good and plentiful, service was fast and friendly. I would have given 5 stars but was very insulted when the waitress questioned our tip because it wasn't quite 20% After leaving i wish I had taken the tip back and left a dollar and a note for her to be thankful for the customers. Perhaps we didnt have the extra to leave her? Not her to queation. For that reason alone, should I ever be in the area again. I would not go back.

Simply, the best Mexican food I’ve ever had. And the restaurant is owned and operated by a wonderful family, a true old-fashioned family business. Every time I try something new on the menu, I’ve found a new favorite. If you want real Mexican food and personalized attention, you can’t go wrong with Chili Willies.

We ordered for the first time--not sure why we waited so long having lived here for many years--I'm so mad we waited so long! The food was absolutely delicious. I got steak fajitas and a pulled pork platter.… Everthing was super fresh, tasted amazing. The restaurant employees were also super nice and helpful. Would highly recommend and we will be back!

I tried this place based on a recommendation and felt compelled to leave a review I was impressed too much not to. Having lived in San Diego for 10+ years, I was spoiled with the best Mexican food there was. Since moved back to Jersey, all experiences were simply sub par. Yesterday, I ordered the chicken tacos platter and it was perfectly amazing. Took me back to authentic, flavor loaded mexican food like San Diego or even Tijuana and other cities south of the border.

Our favorite! We love the food. It is fresh, delicious and amazingly consistent. During the pandemic, we can't dine in but we enjoy getting takeout. Entrees are large and can be shared but we love having leftovers for the next day. Prices are very reasonable and the owners, Jose and Jackie, are the nicest people you could ever meet.
