People want to find meaning and intimacy in their relationships. Spirit leads the way in my counseling/coaching approach. My hope is that as I sit with people, helping them look fearlessly and searchingly, they will find their own feelings, motives, and actions that lead to love of self and compassion for others.
This is what I mean by getting to the heart of the matter. My goal is to get individuals to look deeper than the current issues, and get to the underlying causes of discord, stress, anxiety, and depression. This is how we can experience lasting change.

Every morning I look forward to the honor of working with my clients. In the last 32 years my time with individuals, couples, children, and families continually humbles me as I see them grow. Couples find new avenues to reach each other and parents delight in new-found tools for communicating with their children.
What I have learned in 30 + years as a family counselor is that what we see as hopeless in one season, is usually a view from a distorted lens. Reality is often much more complex, and once we can see the situation more clearly, love, joy, peace, respect, and hope can be restored. I have embraced a new way of working with couples called Imago Therapy.
Over the last year I have noticed women who are seasoned in their career-successful in their competencies-are saying "something is missing for them." They can't articulate directly the present source of their anxiety or depression. They do say things like "I don't know how to say 'no' to my colleagues or spouse."
As parents, we have three things in common: a gift, a dream, and a challenge. The gift is our children. The dream is to send our children into the world as happy adults with confident and competent life skills. The challenge is to raise our children in a manner that is fulfilling for us and healthy and respectful to our children.
My approach for working with anxiety and depression includes body centered therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, and mindfullness. Most often the beginning of getting relief starts with a safe presence of the therapist.' The client is asking internally: "Can I really tell her the places that I go in my mind?" " Will she stay there with me when I doubt my own ability to manage my stressors.
