Dr. Darlene Fortune is a classically trained psychoanalyst in private practice in Coral Gables, Fla. She has practiced at some of the most prestigious psychoanalytic facilities in the country, including Austen Riggs Center in Stockbridge, Mass. Dr. Fortune received her graduate school training in psychiatric mental health at Yale University and also graduated from the Florida Psychoanalytic Institute.
She is a member of the American Psychoanalytic Association and the International Psychoanalytic Association. She has practiced for more than 20 years in Coral Gables, where she offers face-to-face counseling and psychotherapy, as well as traditional psychoanalysis on the couch. Dr. Fortune prescribes medication if necessary, but emphasis is on the life improvement that results from meaningful interpersonal psychotherapeutic dialogue.
