Since 1990, Deirdre Slavin-Mitchell has earned a reputation for providing exceptional cuisine and party planning services. Through Slavin in the Kitchen, Deirdre has provided catering for a broad range of events; from small parties to large weddings, christenings, bar and bat mitzvahs, graduation parties and anniversaries.
Slavin in the Kitchen is a full service catering company which not only focuses on producing delicious and creative food for your party, but on the overall event design. We have experience accommodating parties large and small, in many diverse types of venues. Every single aspect of any great event is designed and planned.
Final Guest Count, not subject to reduction, is due 8 days prior to your event date(s). If you need to increase your guest count, within 5 days of your event date, we will make every effort to accommodate your request. For the comfort of you and your guests and to ensure no embarrassment, please make sure your guest count is as accurate as possible.

Deirdre is everything you could want in a caterer. She is easy to work with, efficient, personable, and most importantly her food is delicious. She will work with you on any dietary restrictions and will build menus to tailor the type of event you're having. She catered our Groton Business Association dinner yesterday evening and everyone was raving about how good everything tasted. Deirdre works very hard, which is evident in her quality of services!

I've hired Slavin in the Kitchen for a few special occasions. Most recently they provided catering services for my oldest son's HS Graduation Party in the summer of 2016. Selecting the food was easy and the pricing is reasonable. The food was delivered on time and my guests were buzzing about the food even weeks later!

Sue and I have had Diedre cater several parties over the years, from small (a few couples) to large (where she provided bartender, servers...), and we have attended other events catered by Diedre and her crew. We had Deirdre cater both our wedding (140 people) and rehearsal dinner (20 people). Both events were in a barn that did not have a commercial kitchen. To start, we were very impressed by her ability to cater such a delicious meal for 150 people without a kitchen on site. I did not have a lot of food preferences to start so I asked her to help create a fall menu for both the rehearsal and reception.
