The Term "EGD" stands for esophagogastroduodenoscopy, also known as upper endoscopy, and is a procedure usually performed by a gastroenterologist (GI or intestinal doctor). This test involves passing a long flexible black tube with a light and video camera on one end through the mouth to examine and visualize the esophagus (the swallowing tube leading to stomach), stomach and the first part of the small intestines called the duodenum.

Dr Mis, Gastroenterologist, and Dan, Anesthesiologist, and the medical staff gave me a sense of comfort and confidence that all would go well. The procedure started around 9:48 a.m. and ended 11:15 a.m. The only negative thought that I have is that the waiting room is so cold. Especially in Winter. It would be wonderful if an electric heater with a thermostat could be placed in the waiting room.

The staff were efficient, friendly, caring and attentive throughout. The nurse followed up with the anesthesiologist (Dan) pre-procedure and he addressed it with me in the surgical room before beginning. He followed up with me afterwards also. I appreciated Dr Raz seeing me in the surgical room before the procedure and again in recovery.

Had a very thorough review of my medications and allergy before undergoing a dual endoscopy and colonoscopy. Entire process from greeting, completion of electronic records review and update, to pre-and post- procedures were well done. The professionalism of the staff was exceeded only by their cheerful demeanor. Thanks!!!

I can’t give 10 stars or I would! Dr Gabriel and his whole surgical team were incredible!! Everything was top notch and very comfortable. I will recommend him to everyone! I waited 18 years due a bad experience with another Dr and facility in the area. I won’t hesitate to go back and won’t be so scared to get a procedure again. ❤️❤️🙌🏻🙌🏻

Having worked in health care and in a hospital with top scores for patient satisfaction, there are aspects I look for when I am the patient. At Villages Endoscopy, I was greeted by every staff team member who was working on my case. They introduced themselves, explained what to expect, and told me about what their respective role would be. I was made very comfortable and placed at ease, starting with the nurse, the anesthesiologist, the technician, and the doctor. The doctor explained my results afterwards, and asked me if I had any questions. Good job people! Keep up the teamwork!
