Scholarships awarded to graduating seniors attending Amador, Foothill or Village High Schools. AVSI awards scholarships to graduating seniors at the following high schools in Pleasanton, CA: Amador Valley, Foothill and Village. Starting in 2019, we will award The Jim Reding Memorial Scholarship which is only available to Dublin or Valley seniors who attended Wells Middle School.

Services
AVSI Was founded in 1965 by a group of local citizens. Their purpose was raising scholarship money to be awarded to students in the community who needed financial assistance to enter college. In 1975, scholarships also became available to students seeking technical or vocational training. In the years since its inception, AVSI has awarded over $764,500 for 614 students.
Amador Valley Scholarships, Inc. offers several designated scholarships as well as general AVSI scholarships to students who will be attending a vocational, community college or 4-year college. Amador Valley Scholarships, Inc. offers scholarships to Pleasanton Unified School District students who have applied to accredited colleges, universities, junior colleges, or vocational schools. Scholarships winners are announced in May and paid after proof of enrollment at an accredited college, university, junior college, or vocational school.
Mary is a 1970 Amador Valley High School graduate and a graduate of Chico State University. She has been teaching in the Pleasanton Unified School District for 33 years. Mary has been President of AVSI since 1996. Charlie is a 1986 graduate of Live Oak High School in Morgan Hill, CA and a 1991 graduate of Chico State.
Amador Valley Scholarships, Inc. was started in 1965 when a group of Pleasanton educators and business people got together for the purpose of raising money for scholarships for graduating seniors from Amador and Dublin high school. AVSI now awards scholarships to graduating seniors from Amador, Foothill, and Village High Schools and serves as administrator for 10 Memorial Scholarships.
