Gourmet by the Bay opened in St Michaels, MD in 2001. Owners Sidney and Jim Trond left the island of Nantucket for "warmer waters" after a successful run at the critically acclaimed Topper's at the Wauwinet and island favorite, Oran Mor. Both classically trained chefs, the Tronds believe that well-prepared food made from honest ingredients speaks for itself; that good service is personal and attentive without being overbearing; and, that every event first and foremost is about creating great memories for the client.

Gourmet by the Bay catered our wedding. The food was absolutely fantastic and our guests raved about it. When we first got the menu, we could hardly choose among their great options, but everything was fantastic. The rockfish was divine, the fries were crisp, and the salads were cool and fresh. Thanks for giving our guests the Eastern Shore feast we dreamed of!
