If you know the Costco on Morena Blvd N, then on the way turn right at the light signal at Avati St. and right again into the small strip mall w/ Bay Ho Liquor & Deli & find a longtime quiet surprise for Bay Ho residents.
Small, yet "need this fast" full of items & treats & friendliness within walking distance, instead of a longer trek to Clairemont Town Square (if you're without car unexpectedly, as I am). I needed cat canned wet food after dark. Bingo! Yes, they have it! Ahh, relief!!!

The first time I came here I was so happy that they had a selection other than just IPAs and standard industry beers. I found out when I got home that the beer I had in fact purchased, was past it's date (clumps of yeast). Next time I went in there the cashier was a bit rude and didn't even make eye contact after I said hello. Went in today for my third and final time, checked the dates on the beer and they were about 8 months past their best by date and had clumps of yeast. I'm sure their top selling beers and IPAs are a bit more fresh but I just can't justify spending money

It's a pleasure walking in this joint, the guys are always very friendly and pretty comical. Sandwiches are tasty and the fella that makes them is always upbeat, no need for subway when you have these right here. I'm a vodka guy so my only slight is that the booze is more expensive than most liquor stores.

To start, they have delicious sandwiches , I always get their ABC (avocado, bacon, cheese) and the bacon is warm and crunchy! Nothing like the disgusting chewy bacon you'd find from a Subway BLT. Not only that but the owner is such a nice guy and always cracks jokes with me every time I go in. It is a true neighborhood store and I am SO happy that we got this instead of a cliche 7/11. They also have an incredible selection of liquors, wines and everything in between. They also provide reasonably-priced MoneyGram services (money orders, etc). This is a nice liquor store. I stopped in to pick up a few items after lunch nearby. The store, in addition to the beer, liquor, and wine carries a lot more items.
Although I did not participate, the store has a deli which many locals frequent. The offer firewood, plenty of ice, propane, and lots of good munchies for those late night crunch sessions. The also have canned good, bread, tortillas, and many other staple grocery items, but most of all, they offer quite the collection of wines.
I hope they fix their sign above the building because it makes the store look a little run down. The gent

Love my family owned neighborhood corner store! Sammy is always nice and helpful. Lots of beverage variety. They also have grocery items when you're in a pinch and need something quick. They even have a deli counter with good sandwiches for lunch! There's a few tables outside on the side of their building for a little meal time. Expect a little Frank Sinatra with your visit too! Located in a corner strip mall, plenty of parking for a quick stop!
