I am here for my 8 month following a lumbar fusion. I feel great ! No pain anymore.
I expect the ct scan will show a nice fusion
Dr. Melamed is absolutely exceptional. It is hard to forget how limiting the pain was before the surgery
I had a par defect, and anterior lumbar fusion with posterior screws was the only way.
Other doctors I visited wanted just a posterior fusion which would not have maintained the curve of my spine. Glad I saw Dr. Melamed.

Dr Melamed gave me my life back! I was in severe pain for months due to a ruptured disc. Dr Melamed performed a non-invasive surgery and the pain was resolved immediately.

I have been experiencing extreme back pain often on, more often than not, for the past 15 yrs. I had a botched laminectomy, for a disk on L4-L5, in 2007, at UCLA, by Dr. Shami. With continued extreme pain post surgery, which slowly appeared on both sides. However, he kept refusing to do an MRI for 3 months, post-op. That was their policy, he said. Saying that it’s all post surgery pain. So, finally when they did an MRI, after 3 months, it showed that I then had 2 disks, one on each side. Short review: I had a Microdiscectomy and it was a complete success. Dr. Melamed and his team, specifically Meenu, provided some of the best medical care that I have ever experienced. Dr. Melamed is a very special doctor. I had a devastating accident in 2004 and ruptured 2 discs in my neck, and developed a cyst on my low back. Dr Melamed is the best!!! At the age of 21 I got into a bad Tae kwon do accident causing me to be in extreme pain 24/7. I had a fusion done in my neck a year later to help with the pain. I saw Dr. Melamed on some TV shows and liked his approach. After doing further research, I was even more impressed. So when it came time to choose a doctor for my spine issues, he was the only choice. He took the time to explain choices and possible outcomes, and how to take care of my results. The surgery and healing were perfect, and after some physical therapy, I have a wonderful back and feel years younger and more graceful. I was very impressed with Dr Melamed. First of all he is willing to think outside the box. My experience with Dr. Melamed and his staff was nothing but amazing. It's obvious he really cares about his patients and is deeply passionate about what he does. I was pretty nervous about my ADR surgery, but Kiki, his assistant was really great at listening and answering any nervous questions I had. (Thank you!) I'm only about three weeks out from my surgery, but I am doing very well. I have suffered with chronic back pain for over 15 years. I have endured more epidural injections than anyone should, physical therapy, hospital visits and way more pain medications than is deemed safe.
