Services
Your dogs and cats do not have to suffer due to allergies. Allergies are caused by an immune reaction to a specific allergen in the environment (atopy) or food. Pet allergies often present as chewing of the feet, itchiness of the face or tail region, focal patches, or recurrent ear infections.
Allergy testing may be used to uncover the substances in your pet's environment that may be causing a reaction, while food trials using a unique protein or carbohydrate source may be utilized to identify the allergy source in a particular diet.Based on these results, a longer-term treatment plan or diet change may be created.

We keep a veterinarian on call 24 hours a day for emergency services. In order to treat your pet as quickly as possible, we restrict after hours emergency care to current clients. If you are not a current client and may be experiencing an after hours pet emergency, please contact your regular veterinarian or Capital District Animal Emergency Clinic at (518) 785-1094.

On the morning of Sunday, May 13, our beloved 15+-year-old dog was happily wagging her tail staring us down in bed. She wanted to go out so that she could quickly run inside and eat breakfast. After getting off the elevator (she can't do the stairs anymore) she ran to our door and then inside. But she fell. And then she ran toward her crate (where she goes when something offends her) and fell again and went into crisis. We knew she wasn't getting up again. Talk about turning on a dime. We immediately called our vet's office to find out which clinic was handling emergencies.

I'm on a remote island, and my phone starts blowing up. As much as it can blow up when there's only sporadic connectivity. Fortunately, the woman blowing up my phone didn't wait for me to call back and brought my dog who was under her care to Arlington.
Full stomach torsion, AKA bloat which is a quick, efficient killer of large dogs. She recognized a symptom I had once described to her: dog is trying to vomit, but only salivia in copious amounts is forthcoming.

Having no idea where to turn with a sick baby Bearded Dragon, we were thrilled to find out that Arlington Animal Hospital treats exotics in additional to traditional companion animals. We have transferred our rescue dogs to this practice as well. The staff and the doctors are all very friendly and extremely accommodating. I highly recommend this clinic.

We are fortunate to have such an outstanding facility in our town. The doctors and staff at Arlington Animal Hospital are among the best I have encountered anywhere. Whether a routine checkup, dealing with the loss of a pet, or anything in between, they have always provided excellent, compassionate service that shows how much they care about owners and their pets. They take whatever time necessary to explain the situation and follow up with a phone call to make sure everything is ok. I highly recommend them.

Picture a lovely July afternoon on a Saturday in scenic Arlington, VT. It's 85 degrees, the birds are out, the grass is green, and one of our dogs... has 12 stitches in her head?
Yea, she does. Our foster dog took a huge honkin' chunk out of my boyfriend's dog. Off hours. In rural Vermont.
Fortunately, I wasn't there for any of it. I would have been the second stop (the hospital from a nervous breakdown). Luckily the crew at Arlington Animal Hospital had it under control! They stitched his pup back up and life is good! She looked like Franken-dog but with expert instructions
