These people are fantastic. They were able to inspect my car same day and were so friendly. I personally don't know much about cars but they didn't try to scam me or overcharge. No gimmicks or games, just great prices and friendly service. Will absolutely come here again and recommend to my friends in the city with cars.

I called in to get the regular annual inspection done. They were able to get me in the next day which was great. The process was easy. Only thing that made me sick to my stomach was being charged for something that wasn’t part of the inspection and without letting me know prior to doing it. I was told they typically don’t consult the customer if the charge is under $100. I was not aware of this and they did apologize for the misunderstanding.

They're a great family run business and they really take care of you. I've never had issue getting an appointment (usually day of) and they do great work. When I had an issue resurface, they told me to come right over and they took care of it. Fair pricing and good people!

These guys went out of their way to help out a stranded out of state Audi driver by waiting an hr after closing to receive the dead Q5.
It was an alternator and they had it replaced and ready to go in less then 12 hrs after getting the car.
Recommended a nearby name brand hotel and contacted us when SUV was ready!

They did some work on my mother's car. They did a good job but the labor rate was a bit high (that near downtown location can't be cheap for a indepenedent shop though)
Edit: Boy was I wrong - They used a ziptie to secure the alternator on my mother's car, which my brother in law discovered when he was going to replace the belt because it was having issues after they supposedly fixed it (they didn't replace the top bolt and the zip tie they used loosened up)

I love Reds and Son. I've brought four cars to them for service over the years. The are a great Indy shop. I own a BMW X5 4.4i which is unbelievably expensive to maintain. While it is still unbelievably expensive, Reds makes it slightly more tolerable and I feel confident that when I leave my car has been serviced properly and my issues resolved. I love that they thoroughly check out the car, give a price for needed repairs and quickly get your car back on the road. I highly recommend Reds and Son if you own a German car though they work in all makes.

Greetings.... while we usually take our 2001 Saab to a specialist... Reds is great for inspections and because they are close, we recently had them handle a SAAB repair... we were again pleasantly surprised, because they did the job very close to our expert's quote, ... they also had it done early, and let us know as soon as it was back "on the ground". A friendly, good spot just above Center City.

Tom is a scam shyster. I needed a new clutch; I went here and he quoted me around 1200. I called the dealer and they said 1400 out the door, so I went with Red's. After the job was done he said he needed to "resurface the flywheel" (I'm told by another mechanic that a new flywheel comes in the clutch replacement package so they never actually "resurface" it they just replace it). Anyway total came to 1500 with emissions and inspections. As I was paying I asked if they had checked the oil or the tires and they said no, I would have to bring it back. ARE YOU KIDDING

I've been coming here for probably 8 years now. I used to go the gas station in Chinatown but the people there stole the jack from my car. I know it was them because I had a flat tire a few days before I came in and it was gone. Don't go there, go to Reds instead.
Anyhoo, I've never had a problem coming here. One time, my car wouldn't start and they let me borrow a portable starter. I came back to their shop and to have the battery replaced since it was obviously shot.

I had a pretty terrible experience dealing with Reds in the last few weeks. I hate to write a negative review online, but I hope I can save others from going through what I went through which was a lot of hassle and a lot of money.
I own a 2008 BMW and my service engine light came on. I should have taken it straight to the dealership, but I decided to save myself some time and maybe money by bringing it to Reds since I live nearby. I was also due for my inspection so I decided to kill two birds with one stone. I dropped my car off on a Monday. A few hours later, Reds said they diagnosed the issues

I have to update my previous review on 07/13/2015. By that time, they give me estimate to replace and reprogram the right rear caliper. He told me that he cannot control the right rear caliper with scanner, he has to replace and reprogram the caliper.
He give me a quote with 700+. I get the same quote in Smith Volkswagen dealership with 620. I went there today and replace the caliper. The dealer told me why you came to replace your caliper without diagnose. I said I already did. After they replaced the caliper, the warning light is still on. I took my car in for a starter issue with my Audi A8 that was diagnosed at another mechanic who does not work on Audi A8s. So I had the car towed the 0.8 miles.
First, they don't call with the issue diagnoses or an estimate. When I called, I was shocked to see that they decided to order the part already without checking in with me. I asked for an estimate for labor- and no answer. This was by now, Friday 3:30pm. And, they are closed on weekends.
Then I receive a call on Monday morning asking me to call back to hear about the estimate. When I called an hour later, they had already started

These guys are right around the corner, easy to get in with, and provide a quick turn around. Perfect for someone like me with a hectic work schedule. They always accommodate me by allowing me to leave my car an extra day or two if I can't pick it up right away.
Anthony is very helpful in answering my questions and gets back to me in a timely manner. The prices are reasonable.
Not to offend my brother-in-law who's a great mechanic, but he's too far, so Red's is the next best thing. Highly recommend trying these guys.

Red's is my friendly neighborhood garage. I've been coming here for about 6 years now, and these guys have always taken good care of me and my cars, first my old Saab and now my Impreza. They are respectful, fair, and quick: Gentlemen mechanics.
I know my prices. I shop around and usually call around for 3 estimates before I get any major work done. I always come back to Red's and unless things change, will keep coming back. Give them a try!

The staff seems friendly enough, but don't let that fool you. They'll charge you an arm and a leg for problems that aren't even there. I went in for a simple state inspection and an oil change and was quoted at over $1,300 because they supposedly needed to replace my brakes. I left for a second opinion, but was still charged over $150 just for the oil change due to the "labor" behind it. Give me a break. Oh, and the next garage that I took my car to said my brakes were fine. Stay away from this place!
