She suddenly left her family, friends, and all of her karate family with broken hearts after the accident; however, the family knows she is in a better place still practicing Karate with the Angels and our Heavenly Father. The Dojo, the tradition, and the quality karate continues because our Instructors love the Martial Arts as a discipline, as a life style, and of course in loving memory of our angel Seleny Joanne.
With consistent training and practice, it takes an average of 3-5 years to obtain a black belt, and every student is different. There are eleven 10 belt levels you must pass before earning a black belt. In fact, martial arts is often a "home" for kids who don't excel at team sports. Kids who have trouble in baseball, basketball, etc. often come to martial arts and do extremely well.
Do not forget the dynamics of power, the elasticity of the body, and the speed of technique. A Dojo Kun is a verbal affirmation that is recited by all of the students, usually at the end of each training session.
The purpose of the Dojo Kun is to remind all of the students in the dojo, regardless of their rank, that the physical, mental, and spiritual growth that they enjoy as a by-product of their karate training, must also extend beyond the dojo's walls.By that I mean, in order to derive the true benefits of Shotokan karate-do, each student must take the underlying principles of this art form and make them a regular part of their daily life.

Eight of our athletes participated and brought home 12 medals: 4 silver, and 8 bronze. Three of them are brand new students, but with the su.pport of the parents, senseis, coaches, and the whole team, every member of our SKD Team did a wonderful job! We are SO proud of these talented children.
Thanks SO much to the parents for your trust and support, and special thanks to the Carneys for stepping out and diligently coaching the kids during the Utah Championship.

Students should familiarize themselves with the various requirements for each belt level prior to turning in their grading application. If you are unfamiliar with any of the Kihon, Kata, or Kumite required for your next belt level, you should not attempt to grade, but instead, you should continue to train until you feel comfortable with all of the requirements.

Excellent Karate dojo and exceptional teachers ( Seinse's) very professional and knowledgeable I will suggest if you have any children to bring them to study this dicipline. Now if you do not like to push your children do not waist your time because he will make sure that they work and learn. If you have the opportunity to enroll them in this dojo you will not regret it. Oss sensei!

I love this place, you can definitely see how professional they are and how they care for their students, i have my 2 kids attending, I was impressed so I motivated my nephew to start. Kids need to be active and to be enroll on after school activities. Now am trying to get my friends brother to start as well as I personally recommend it
