People often ask us how we get paid. In a nutshell, we represent many of the nation's largest lenders and act as their outsourced sales team. Each time we bring a lender a mortgage, that lender pays us a fee out of their own revenues - a fee is fully disclosed to you upfront and in writing. And did you know that many of the nation's largest lenders close more loans through their broker channel than through their own captive sales force?

As someone new the Bay Area (moved here for job at Apple a couple years ago) navigating the real estate market can be a bit challenging. Joel helped us get the loan we wanted at a great rate and we even closed on time despite numerous data requests from the bank. My wife is an independent contractor which makes documenting income a bit tricky but Joel did a great job which ensured a smooth close. Due to the stringent new rules for the mortgage industry, getting a refinance was a nightmare experience until I was referred to SpoLoan. Even with a high credit rating and good income, I was turned down by three mortgage brokers. Because I am self-employed, the rules of the underwriters made it almost impossible for me to refinance. However, my corporate attorney, Rick Burt, referred me to SpoLoan. We recently bought a house in Sunnyvale with the loan secured by Joel, and couldn't be more happy with the whole process. We have two little children so we didn't want to go through the process of selling our townhouse first and renting before buying a house. Joel has done my mortgages for all 3 houses we bought in the bay area (you don't have to be in palo alto or menlo park as someone else mentioned to make use of Joel's wisdom!) including refinancing for them as well. I wouldn't think of going anywhere else as he is so knowledgeable, trustworthy, helpful and knows all the ins and outs to make it work best for you. It makes what could be a stressful process as easy as possible, while understanding your needs and constraints. And you get him directly, can't imagine working with some big anonymous company.
