Dr. Karen A. DeVore has been committed to serving the Spartanburg community for over 30 years and is happily married with four children. She first began her medical journey earning a B.A. in Chemistry through Converse College in Spartanburg, SC with honors & ranked first in her graduating class. From there, she attended the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta.

Dr. Devore saved my husband's life by finding and removing the tiniest melanoma. He is now 10+ years cancer free. I cannot thank her enough. She is thorough with her checks and wastes no time removing anything that may be an issue. Very direct and to the point in her bedside mannerism but I like that! The regular dermatology area is separate from the cosmetic dermatology so no pressure for cosmetic procedures or treatments.

If you have melanin-rich skin I wouldn’t recommend this doctor. I went to have a few skin tags I had on my face removed. Dr.Devore did not remove my makeup prior to using the instrument/tool that is used to remove large warts on my face. The tool froze off my skin to the white flesh and left permanent damage to my skin. This wasn’t the correct treatment and a plain lazy approach to my concern. I have permanent dark marks and what look like ice pick scarring on my face. It has been three years since my treatment and my spots have not improved even though laser treatments.

Dr. Devore is amazing.
Let me substantiate that statement. She always asks about my concerns, listens, then responds. She always thinks about the best approach and offers available options, then asks what do I think. I really like this about her. She is respectful of my concerns, time, and input. I feel that I am treated as a person and valued.
Her staff is friendly and very prompt with getting back to me if I have any questions. For example, I called to follow up with the nurse and left a message (mind you, it was about 15 minutes before they closed). And, the nurse called me within 10 minutes

From the looks of the reviews don’t waste your time or your hard earned money in this establishment. Dr Devore is a cruel woman and will look down on you for having Medicaid, a doctor should be able to help and the only thing she helps is herself. As for her employees, they are rude and don’t care for their patients. For Dr. Devore to act so “high class,” her establishment is diminishing and the building looks vacant.

While Dr. Devore successfully resolved my issue, I would not reccomend anyone use this office as their primary derm. After waiting almost 2 hours for my appt she was in & out if the room within 5 minutes. At my next appt after having a small procedure, I had many questions and concerns (relating to what she had done), all which were put to the side & I was told to schedule another follow up, (racking up money for office visits).
However, my biggest issue would be the office staff, KRIS in particular speaks very condescending. Her customer service skills are equivalent to a moody teenager working

Dr.Devore is awesome. I have been to her office several times and every time I receive the same level of great service. Never waited more then 15 minutes in the waiting room and never more then 10 minutes once I was back in a room. Her staff has always treated me with respect and were extremely courteous. This is my go to office e when I need a dermatologist.
