Services
Thunderbird Ranch was founded in 1962 by the late Arline Johnson as a horseback riding camp for children and event rental venue for groups. In 1975, Arline's son Bruce assumed ownership and direction of the ranch, he was raised on. In 2010, Bruce along with his wife Elizabeth, phased out the summer camp operation of 48 years to focus on event rental of the facility and continue to offer horseback riding lessons and guided trail rides.
Weddings have private use of ranch. We provide you with a ready to go picturesque facility; well kept grounds, shaded deck with a BBQ, lawns, picnic tables with attached benches, clean & stocked restrooms with showers ("The County Seat"). If your group requires additional electrical outlets (beyond those provided for food service), add an additional $15 per outlet; i.e., additional lighting, sound systems, etc.
Thunderbird Ranch with its working Ghost Town, General Store, Blacksmith Shop, Covered Wagons, Train Depot, complete with authentic railroad cars is a truly unique place to say, "thank you" to your employees, celebrate a birthday, family reunion, or anniversary. The picnic area is shaded by majestic old oaks, deck with a barbecue, picnic tables with benches, trash receptacles, and water to accommodate your needs.

Amazing experience horse back riding here. I have never been but Diane made me feel comfortable on the horse. She gave advice that I was able to follow to feel.confident. I think I fell in love with the horse.

This horse riding and summer camp takes you back in time. Ranch available for horseback riding lessons, summer camp or wedding venue. Early 1900's train dining car on site and another old train car set up as a bunkhouse. Located in the Geyserville wine country.

What a beautiful location for a wedding. My suggestion is that if you are going to get married in the summer, have your guests seated in the shade, have plenty of water available and misters along the perimeter of where people will be.

I worked for Mrs. Johnson at the ranch during the summer of 1965. It was the greatest place to learn to horseback ride. There was always fun and laughter to go with the great meals. Glad to see Bruce carrying on with the Thunderbird Ranch traditions. Dennis M
