If you're looking for a Sonoma County or Mendocino County wedding venue, The Highlands Estate has the perfect rustic yet elegant wine country vineyard location! We offer two outdoor wedding locations on the property, both with views of our vineyards and out to the Yorkville Highlands Valley, a short drive outside of Cloverdale and Healdsburg.
If you are using a GPS (navigation) unit built into your vehicle, the map data will not be up to date enough to properly get you to our location, however many systems allow for input of longitude and latitude. You will go under the freeway and past a HUGE redwood saw mill on your left. About 1/4 mile further, you will need to make a rather sharp right to stay on/continue with highway 128 (CA-128).

I was quite surprised it's beautiful. It's a bit hard to get there but if you follow the road look on left hand side coming from Cloverdale and it's up the hill for about a couple minutes. the owners of the property are quite nice, eager to help, and friendly. I highly recommend this place. They do care about it and it shows.

You know those venues that look picture perfect on Instagram and sound too good to be true and then you get there and realize it was all filters and selective memory? The Highlands Estate is not one of those venues.

The Highlands is a beautiful, well maintained wedding venue! We had our wedding here on 10.1.2021 below the Oak Tree. The only think more beautiful than the setting was my wife :) There's several great spots to the venue: the Oak tree, the usual ceremony spot (what we used as the cocktail hour), the patio outside the barn, and the barn itself. Altogether it provided the perfect setting for our wedding. The owners/hosts, Gard and Whitney, were also fantastic and our wedding coordinator, Andi, with Bowties and Bubbly knew and managed the event well!

After visited several wedding sites, we immediately fell in love with this gorgeous venue, the modern rustic aesthetic, and the breathtaking view from the ceremony site. Truly nothing compares to The Highlands Estate. We also adore Whitney and Gard as they are so kind, caring, and will ensure your wedding is the best it can be. The venue is truly a labor of love for them, and it shows. They are always making improvements, big and small, to continually ensure the venue is perfect. Gard even made the wooden tables himself which are absolutely beautiful. The extra touches like that go a long way.

During these crazy pandemic times with Covid 19, I am so happy to be working with such amazing people. Both Gard and Whitney have worked tirelessly with EVERY SINGLE one of my clients to ensure that their dream wedding will take place. That may not happen this year... they may not happen on a Saturday as once planned , but they are not charging any fees (Some venues are charging full price AGAIN and some are charging RE BOOKING fees)
PEOPLE.... The venues did not create this pandemic. We should be thankful that we are all healthy and safe and that the venue is taking all necessary precautions

While planning a summer 2021 wedding, four of us received a personal tour of the spectacular property from owners Gard and Whitney Cookson.
If considering booking your event at the Highlands Estate, I recommend reading and understanding the lengthy contract before moving forward, including Exhibit D which explains their no refunds policy even during a pandemic.
I would also recommend asking for clarification in writing of how your event would be handled if there was a change of ownership.

Very unprofessional and lack human decency. They took advantage of Covid 19 to keep our $4000 deposit. Would not recommend! They couldn’t hold up there end of the agreement and still wanted us to give them the rest of the money due in order to pick a date next year. We did not want a date next year so they voided our contract and refused to refund us our deposit. It’s really a shame such terrible people own such a beautiful place! Please do not do business with them. They do not deserve your business and furthermore, they will do whatever to find a loop hole to steal your money. Theres plenty

I attended a vow renewal at The Highland Estates and it was spectacular. The views are stunning in every direction and it feels like you’re a million miles away yet you’re close to everything in wine country. The facilities were super clean and the owners have thought of everything. My friend (the vow renewing bride) was so thrilled with her special day. I’d highly recommend checking this location out for your big day.
