I was so anxious I wouldn't be able to find this place because the only tip is "behind Costco" but truly, they are just literally right behind Costco. I showed up at 1:00pm on a Sunday (don't do that - they have a lunch break from 1-1:30) so I did some quick shopping before parking right behind Costco, grabbing a couple different sorting bins for my recyclables, waited in a line of 5 people for about 10 minutes, and was done! It was so easy and quick!

I used to use a recycling place in Mission Viejo, but after it closed i had to find a new place, abd after looking this place up i decided to give it a shot. I've been here about 10 times and have allways had good interactions and good customer service.

Critical: Responsiveness
Sitting in line for an hour. Need to offer service weekly to spread demand/congestion. Most people unlikely to do this again which obviously defeats the whole purpose
Service: Hazardous waste removal

The quickest recycling spot I've been to. And it's great that they also recycle milk jugs. Will be back again.

Recycling made so easy and convenient. The rules are simple: separate everything before you go to minimize the time there. I dump all my plastic in the Orange stretchy containers, the glass in the blue containers and hand over my few aluminum cans. They weight it, you sign the receipt, get cash and then go. The tricky part is to find the actual location which in the back. Simple.

First time to Recycling Spot behind the Costco on Technology Drive in Irvine. Pretty easy. Drop your cans in one orange bin. Plastic bottles in another. Weighed and cashed out. Quick and easy. I can imagine there will be a line sometimes but it's nice to get something back for the environment.

Employees are disrespectful, rude, no manner and cheaters!
They make different rules for people that don't look like them! I can't believe Costco would associate themselves with this type of foolishness! Shameless behavior!

This is the most convenient recycling establishment I've been to. It's very easy to donate recyclables for a nominal fee. I bring all of my plastics here. It's a great habit to keep for self sustainability and upkeep of the environment. I recommend it to all nearby friends in Irvine.

Terrible customer service
I drove 1 hour and got there at 12:59 and they wouldn't take me because they are at lunch form 1-1:30 which I did not know. I explained that I can't wait but they said "too bad. Not my problem"

Very, very awesome service! He's eaten, easy outs. Helpful workers. Very pleasant compared to what I've been using the recycle planet I think? They were terrible. But they were close to my house. And since they closed I look for another one. These guys are great worth a little extra drive.

Open during covid. I stopped by today to get some recycling done. The line went by quick! There were a couple of people ahead of me but I was done in less than 10 minutes. I definitely appreciate how quickly they managed things because other cycling centers take much longer. When I walked away I did feel like they paid me a bit light compared to what I was used to.

I'm wildly surprised if anyone complains about this recycling joint, considering I've seen a handful of places and usually they are cluttered or chaotic. This recycling area is in a spacious back portion of Costco and you're not driving over pieces of palettes or debris. What's fantastic about this place is that they actually PAY YOU at the location, rather than giving you a receipt or form to enter into a nearby supermarket in exchange for actual currency. It was kind of mind blowing (and a bit of a security risk?) that they pay on the spot, but the associate was using an iPad

Read the reviews here before going in, and was prepared to get stung by bees, to be underpaid, and to have to wait a long time but none of those things happened. Didn't even see one bee lol.

When i pulled up there was a pretty good line, but unlike replanet after about 5 or 10 minutes I had all the receptacles I needed for my many cans, and by the time I emptied them all into the receptacles it was my turn to go. The 2 workers there were very fast, nice & easy to deal with. Also for the amount of bags of cans I had, i don't think I was underpaid, it was a just as good of a return

Save yourself the hassle. I took glass, plastic and cans. They only took cans because they said their containers were full. So I asked when they can usually take plastic or glass and all they said is they can't guarantee a time when they will accept glass or plastic so you're stuck in a guessing game. Who has time to drive around and hope they take your cans? The only nice thing was the ample parking, otherwise I would've given one star only.

After RePlanet closed near me, had to find another local recycling spot, pun intended.

While this is a little further from me (it's behind Costco, past the auto/tire center), they're open every day (including Sundays!) and so far my first few trips have been relatively pain-free. There's two people working at a time (which is +1 than RePlanet) and they're pretty quick. You can turn in materials by count, and just need to separate them into bins (they use these interesting plastic/net bins that feel less grimy than the normal garbage bins) and they hand you cash right away.

Organized, fast, and simple.

Separate glass, plastic, aluminums into separate dividers, they weigh it and you're good to go.

It's located right behind Costco on Technology.

They are open 7 days (10am-4:30pm)
& keep in mind they take lunch 1pm-1:30pm so come accordingly.

Thank you guys for a great and speedy service.
Will be back!

Great service, the two guys who work there are great !
The line was crazy and it went by fast. If you have plastic it goes in the orange bins and aluminum in the orange bins but separate, glass was put in the blue bins . This place is friendly clean. Thank you Miguel and Elijah ! I'll be coming again !

Horrible experience! There are swarms of bees everywhere, parking is difficult, the employees not very helpful. The wait was 45 minutes for 2 bags of recycling, likely because other people cut in front and employees let them.

They also underpay as noted in another review.
