Pete Schones has a colorful history with the timeless enjoyment of cycling that dates back three generations, when his grandfather, Ferenc Barvik, opened the first professional bike shop in Denver in the mid 1960s. Pete was first introduced to the cycling industry in 1984 when his parents continued Ferenc's legacy and opened a bike shop of their own.
Pete attended the acclaimed Barnett Bicycle Institute to hone his repair and maintenance skills and eventually took a job with a national bicycle parts supplier, frequently visiting bike shops in his territory, where he got to know the owners and gained great insight into the bicycle shop business.

Best place to have your bike worked on. Once I got a flat that needed more then a patch, acme got me out within 15 minutes. Then 45 minutes later on my ride, my break started acting up, took it back to acme who had it for 45 minutes and reset the break. Please understand that the workers, they are busy rockstars, so to be able to get back out on the road so quickly is awesome.
Great work and customer service at this place. You can tell they love what they do.
Bring your bike here 😁

Super nice store, awful sales staff. I was there for 10 minutes before anyone approached me. I was the only one there. I was looking for a Trek bike and had some questions before buying one. The sales person didn't even let me ask the full question before he answered No. It wasn't even a yes or no question. Decided to go to a different bike shop in FC and just bought my Trek. I just felt that my precense was bothering the sales staff.

Had service done on an older, used bike I had purchased. Acme did an EXCELLENT job on the tune up, clean up and tire replacement. Did everything I requested and looked after a few things I didn’t realize needed updating. Used bike is now like a new bike. Quality work and fair pricing. Definitely a positive result.

Pete at Acme Bikes is awesome! I took my bike in for a tune-up. I showed up as he was closing (not that I recommend this), but he was very gracious. He took the time to look at my bike and give me a very honest assessment. It's not about selling something to you, but about helping you make a good decision for you. He also treats you with respect which can be hard to find in a bicycle shop.
