Sonya Ahmed, MD is a board certified and fellowship-trained Orthopedic Surgeon with expertise in treating disorders of the foot and ankle.

Dr. Ahmed is amazing. I had such anxiety and fear about my calcaneal surgery and what repercussions and lasting effects it would have on my life. A few months later and here I am walking around with absolutely no pain and and a foot that feels like it did before. I can't feel any of the hardware. I just complied and followed her plan and I don't believe the results could have been any better. If you have foot problems, this is the place to go.

First off, Dr. Ahmed is amazing and that side of Nilssen is very professional/on the ball. However, just as my calf was healing from an injury, I started PT with Jackie. During our 2nd apt, Jackie was careless and distracted so much so that she ended up damaging my calf muscles. Resulting in a debilitating injury that's put me in agony for 5 days now. Barely able to walk or sleep and I'm worried about the extent of this injury. When I called to convey this, I was cut off mid sentence and apparently the only thing Amanda, the scheduler, heard me say was that Jackie didn't give me enough attention

I had the best experience I could ever ask for with Dr. Nilssen. I cannot recommend him and his team enough. From beginning to end they have been professional and a pleasure to communicate and work with. He and his entire staff are timely, kind, and compassionate. I have had about 8 years of chronic pain in my ankle due to a previous injury. Dr. Nilssen was completely invested in figuring out the pathology that was causing my discomfort. I am currently 2 weeks post-op and feeling great. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Absolutely the best Dr I have ever been to. Highly recommend Dr. Sonya Ahemed. Compassionate and listens to understand your need. Very thoroughly details the issue and eager to work with you in any way to get the problem fixed. Danielle, her assistant was superb and such a caring and sweet young lady. Justin who took care of my surgery site on visits was so very nice & accommodating. Appointments always on time and even took me in if I arrived early. Wonderful and sweet receptionist too. Thankful to have found Dr. Ahmed 🌝 for my first surgery in my 58

Dr. Ahmed is incredible! Upon reviewing my MRI immediately recognized the tear in a tendon in my left foot. Next completing a physical exam of my foot determined that surgery was necessary to repair the damage that I did three months earlier that was not recognized by a different orthopaedic surgeon! Surgery was discussed how the procedure would be performed and several options for repairing the tendon during surgery. The day following my outpatient surgery the pain in my foot was gone!! Temporary cast for two weeks, followed by a boot for four weeks with no weight on my left foot all PAIN FREE

I've been a registered nurse for 38 years, and had a very long-standing ankle problem with pain and severe deformity. Dr Nilssen was able to vastly improve the condition. I'm very grateful for his expertise and would recommend him to anyone suffering a foot or ankle issue. Attached is a picture of my right ankle before and after surgery. The improvement has been life-changing for me.
