We were referred to AFTE by friends after years of filing ourselves and never using a professional tax service. Our fee was $450 to file our taxes. After two months of having to follow up multiple times per week by both phone/email, THE DAY TAXES WERE DUE, after hounding them again, we finally had the forms completed, corrected and filed - or so we thought. Two months later while trying to refinance our house, we learned that was not the case, and the taxes were never actually filed. We put in our taxes in March of 2021, my refund arrived 3 weeks after in direct deposit, but my mom's and boyfriend's has not came in, it is now JUNE 2021, we would call and they would give us inaccurate information and would just tell us to check the IRS website or they wouldn't answer at all. For the $250 i paid I expected a better answer to my complaints, we called this morning and turns out she had not even submitted their taxes until today, it is unbelievable that it's been 3 months and they're not even helpful, waste of $250 and time! Never again.
