Tara McSorley works at the Mental Health and Wellness Centers. She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a Masters' Degree in Counseling and Social Work. She works with a team of professionals who hold a primary purpose of helping families find the resources and support necessary to address addiction and mental health concerns, heal and move forward.
An intervention is held to create an opening in the denial system of your loved one to facilitate getting help. This is accomplished by helping everyone accept the difficult reality of the current situation and the part each person plays in the drama. We work to meet a client where they are in the process of change to explore the relationship between themselves, their world, and their addiction-related issues.

We are intensively trained in the Arise process of interventions. This is an invitational model where the family is invited to come together to discuss the concerns of their loved ones. This is not a confrontational model; in fact the person of concern is invited to attend. We remove the shame, blame, and guilt that can be associated with alcoholism and mental health concerns by approaching the family member with love, care and concern.
