We grew to become a staple in the community by treating clientele like family. The store is owned and operated by Rachel Browning and her son, Johnny. Rachel Browning has served the Hinsdale community for 30+ years, realizing a dream to make people sparkle! She has worked with generations of families in the community and recognizes the importance of family values and jewels. Johnny, Rachel's son, has been surrounded by the jewelry world from the beginning.
Definitely our favorite service! Come in with an idea or a picture and together we will create the piece you have in mind. Or, collect the pieces you are not using and we can redesign and reset them into a current and wearable accessory. When your pieces need a little extra attention, our jeweler will polish them (recommended once a year) to become new again.
When people think about diamonds, they think about the 4 C's that are always mentioned. While those characteristics certainly play a factor into finding the perfect stone, there is so much more that we put into choosing a stone here at Browning and Sons. Cut; the skill at which the diamond is cut, determining how well it reflects and refracts light.

I gave Browning & Sons three tries to replace the battery in my watch, each time they returned it to me it worked for a couple weeks then stopped again. After two tries, they told me it needed "more work" at an additional expense of course. After this failed third attempted, and nearly $250 in sunk costs for a battery, I took my watch to the original manufacturer. They deemed the watch immediately unrepairable due to water damage and RUST. Rust?! No one at B&S mentioned rust, and they had the watch for repair three times over the course of the preceding 6 months. Rust doesn&apos

Great attention to details and what I wanted! Extremely creative in helping me take a tennis bracelet of emeralds and diamonds and making them into dangling ear jackets for my daughter’s wedding for me, the MOB! When two other jewelers told me they could not help me have my engagement/wedding ring set reworked into a heart pendant for my daughter to wear with her wedding gown so she could have something of her late father’s with her on her special day, Browning and Son’s came through. My husband and I have been customers of Rachel for 25 years. At our 10th wedding anniversary, Rachel designed a new engagement ring, it was stunning and I enjoyed it very much. For our 25th wedding anniversary, we wanted Rachel to design another ring to commemorate our love, and Rachel designed the most unique and beautiful ring I have ever seen. The service, detail, personal attention you get from Browning and Sons, is something that just doesn't exist elsewhere. For it and it fell apart in less than 4 months. They accused me of dropping it
Which I did not. They wanted to charge me to send it back to Michelle and
Said I would have to pay for the repair whatever it would be. I was surprised
How poorly they treated a customer and how rude the woman was. I would be out of business if I treated my customers that way. I will never step foot

Customer service is non existent. My husband and I have purchased jewelry from them and they were all smiles, but when I brought a ring in that needed sizing that wasn't purchased from them, I was treated as though I were an unwanted visitor. When I received the ring back from them there was a crack in it that wasnt there prior. I brought it back in and they were brusk and dismissive. It took 3 weeks to make a simple repair which was caused by them yet they still charged me $35 since we didn't buy the ring from them plus the $60 to size the ring. Very very rude and discourteous.
