Serving over 60 children from 2 months through pre-kindergarten, ACC is highly regarded among families, educators and community leaders for exemplary care. ACC is committed to strengthening families by providing the highest quality care and education for children; serving families of varied economic levels and cultural backgrounds in an atmosphere that celebrates diversity. At the heart of ACC is the philosophy that each child is unique and develops with varying social, emotional, physical, and intellectual strengths and needs.
Veteran Director Toni Boucher retired in 2020, paving the way for new leadership under current Director Shonna Clark. Shonna has an excellent educational background and a broad range of experiences in child care administration and leadership. Most of this has been in Northern California, where she received her B.A. in Early Education and Care from California State University, Sacramento.
The ACC Board of Directors is dedicated to the mission, sustainability and success of the Agency. The Board is comprised of community volunteers with a wide range of skills and talents that reflect the diversity of our community. Alison Brett is a former staff member (1993-1997) and has previously served on the Board of Directors (1997-2003.)
The success of ACC's alumni is the best reflection of the effectiveness of our work. Parents report that ACC kids arrive at kindergarten with advanced skills that continue to serve them throughout their school careers. We hear the same from their teachers. With over thirty years of providing early childhood education to the kids in Altadena and Pasadena, we are proud that we are now providing quality care to the children of ACC Alums.
