Dr. Derrington, a native of South Carolina, is a Board Certified Dermatologist and a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology. She specializes in general, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology. Dr. Derrington earned her Bachelor of Arts from Brevard College in North Carolina, where she graduated summa cum laude and was honored with the Presidential Award for Outstanding Leadership and Achievement.

We offer surgical excisions for benign and cancerous growths in the comfort of our office. If you have a bothersome or cancerous lesion, Dr. Derrington evaluates whether it can be treated surgically. A standard surgical excision takes 30 minutes. First, you are numbed with local anesthetic, then the lesion is excised with a scalpel leaving you with a straight line of sutures.

Both the doctor and her staff were very friendly, professional and caring. We are new to this state. I just had surgery performed this morning. It was fast, on time and painless. My wife was allowed to be present and was so impressed she immediately made an appointment for herself. That’s saying something.

The doctor was very nice as were the staff. I have always struggled with acne, I have a ton of moles and freckles all over my body. I really want a dermatologist who genuinely cares and does a deep overall check. Actually look at my skin. Educate me about my skin and products I should be using. I felt like she just wanted me in and out. She did remove a cyst on my chin which I’m grateful for, minimal scarring. I haven’t been back since healing. I found a new dermatologist who did those things I wanted my skin is currently the best it’s ever been. She’s nice I just feel like it was transactional

What I thought was a wart turned out to be squamous cell carcinoma. Dr. Derrington diagnosed and performed surgery within weeks. The surgery was nearly painless and the recovery quick with no complications. I am now cancer free and more educated and sensible about skin cancer prevention. Dr. Derrington is clinically astute, personable, compassionate and takes the time with her patients. I've already recommended her to family and friends. What a fabulous Dermatologist!

This is a pleasant, easy to schedule office. I’ve been to both Dr Derrington and Lea, the aesthetician. Both are outstanding and caring. Appointments are easy, brief, and it is nice to see Dr Derrington come get me from waiting room. Lea has done a TON of awesome laser work and it is easy painless and quick. I highly recommend this doctor to Charleston patients.

I came to Dr Sarah when my acne was getting bad. She put me on accutane and my skin is seriously amazing now she has always been so kind to me and my friends I send to her. Definitely the best dermatologist I have ever been too, I recommend everyone to her she is so good at her job and loves doing it 💓

I cannot recommend Dr. Derrington enough! She is not only unbelievably kind, but is a dermatologist that listens to her patients. Even when I come to her with silly tiktok skincare questions and self treatments I’ve Googled she listens and helps me with a correct treatment for my skincare needs. Dr. Derrington has helped my skin tremendously. When I first came to her a couple months ago I was breaking out profusely, had fine lines, and very dry skin no matter what I tried. Only a short time later and my skin looks flawless. I don’t even wear makeup anymore to hide texture, dark spots, and breakouts

I was referred here by my PCP for a mole on my scalp. Let me. just tell you this. It took me longer to sign in than it did to be seen (and signing in took like 2 minutes). I wore my natural TWA out so that it would be easy for her to find and see. She was visibly horrified at the idea of touching my scalp and did not do so. She took a quick peek then told me it was fine. She walked me out and proceeded to recommend sunscreen to me. When I asked why her words verbatim were "because you wouldn't want to get any darker". Needless to say I've never gone back.

During COVID, My face started breaking out all over. Not just around my mouth but on my forehead, nose, cheeks, neck, and temple area. I went to numerous visits to my primary doctor concerning my face breaking out and I was diagnosed with mask acne but nothing was working. After nine months of fighting my condition, I finally made an appointment with Dr. Derrington. I was diagnosed with Actinic Keratosis and Rosacea. I’ve been to see a few dermatologists over the years and Derrington Dermatology is by far the best! Dr. Derrington and staff are amazing, professional, and friendly.
