Law Office Of Richard J Meechan
Disability discrimination occurs when your employer treats you unfairly or unlawfully because of your disability. Our lawyers are ready to help you to protect your rights and to help you to pursue monetary damages from your employer if you are the victim of disability discrimination in the workplace.

If you have been injured on the job, you have certain legal rights and protections under California law. The California Labor Code protects workers from dismissal because of injuries or disabilities related to their on-the-job injuries. But some employers act as if the law does not apply to them. You should talk to a certified workers' compensation attorney about your legal rights.
Services
Our team of California workplace accident and injury attorneys is ready to stand up for your rights. We have decades of experience protecting employee rights. Our founder, lawyer Richard J. Meechan, is a board-certified specialist in workers' compensation, handling claims that arise from workplace accidents and injuries.
If you have recently been injured in a workplace accident or become ill because of your job, you may be dealing with the California workers' compensation system for the first time. Many people who have an urgent need for workers' compensation benefits after a workplace accident encounter a bureaucratic system they know very little about.
California workers' compensation is the employer's legal obligation to pay compensation benefits to workers hurt on the job. Workplace injuries that may lead to a workers' compensation claim could be a one-event occurrence, such as a back injury caused by a fall, chemical-caused skin burns, or a car-accident caused injury during job-related driving.
Your employer has the legal obligation to provide you with medical treatment for your workers' compensation injury. Within 24 hours of reporting your injury, you should be sent for an initial visit with a physician within the employer's Managed Provider Network ("MPN"). You do not have to keep going to this doctor for continued medical care.

My husband lost a finger at work and they helped us get a better settlement. It's a very personal thing being in the work comp system, and it's also a hard system to navigate. I felt good about the advice I got from Mr. Meechan and Ms. Rosenthal.

Although they can't take my case, they were very nice and suggested a few things to help.

The state of california needs to stop including this law office on their attorney's list,
as the staff there have NEVER returned my phone calls for assistance, despite two
intakes and numerous calls. The staff of at least 8 doesn't even answer their phones,
not even the operator nor the receptionist. A pathetic example of an attorney's office which is unresponsive to the needs of at least this former worker in need of assistance
on a worker's comp case.
