Jocelyne Gardner, LCSW
I help clients who are coping with stressful circumstances such as a challenging or special needs child, a serious medical diagnosis, divorce, co-parenting, infidelity, a career crisis or the loss of a loved one. At times like this we can feel slammed with feelings of sadness, hopelessness, anxiety, overwhelm and isolation.

I work with clients to process these profound shifts in their lives and help them discover their new normal. Therapy can help you better understand yourself, navigate through difficult life transitions, feel more connected in your relationships, be a better partner or parent and live the fullest life possible.
Services
I am a psychotherapist and licensed clinical social worker (LCS75196). I work with adult clients via phone or video sessions. My approach is warm, supportive, gentle, practical and interactive. I think deeply about my clients and the issues they are struggling with. I will focus on your strengths as together we explore the challenges in your life.
Adults come to see me for a variety of reasons including experiencing a loss, illness, divorce, relationship difficulty, major life transitions or other distressing feelings such as depression, anxiety, self-doubt, sadness, fear, anger, regret or parenting challenges.

Therapy can help you better understand your feelings and reactions, find solutions to a problem, develop new ways to cope with anger, depression or anxiety, change old patterns, improve your relationships, and increase self-esteem.Whatever the reason, therapy can be a safe place to begin talking about what is troubling you.
Parenting is filled with intense joy and love. It can also be filled with self-doubt, exhaustion, anger, depression, pressure, fear, disappointment and stress.

Therapy can help you find ways to make time for your own needs, learn to react differently when you feel 'triggered', understand how your childhood affects your parenting style, improve the relationship with your partner or children and help you to experience more joyful moments with your family.Finding the right fit is important, when you are ready contact me for a free phone consultation.
Parenting a child with special needs raises the level of emotional and physical exhaustion to another level. I work with parents of children with special needs, including autism, learning differences, ADHD and other developmental, genetic or chronic conditions. You undoubtedly have bigger challenges to overcome than you ever thought possible.
What is the cost? Do you offer reduced fee sessions? I hold a number of reduced fee slots in situations of financial need. I encourage you to call me so we can discuss your situation. If I am unable to accommodate you, I can refer you to a trusted colleague or training clinic. Do you offer couples or family therapy?

I was part of a therapist consultation group with Jocelyne. She provided invaluable consultation and insights about working with parents and families with a child with special needs. Her knowledge helped me with a family I was working with at the time. Because of my consultation with Jocelyne, this family was able to understand better what was happening to their child and we were able to find appropriate resources.

I know Jocelyne's work well as she was in my consultation group this past year. Jocelyne is deeply empathic and has a particular passion for supporting parents of children with special needs. If you are struggling with grief, ambivalence, confusion or frustration around parenting your child with special needs, give Jocelyne a call. She'll help you make sense of and manage all that is going on inside you so that you can parent with more resilience and ease. In addition to her depth of knowledge, she also happens to be incredibly warm and easy to talk to. I wholeheartedly recommend her

I've always been weary of therapists. Societal norm dictates that people who seek mental professional health are unstable. But that's all changed since I've started seeing Jocelyne. Now, I'm a huge proponent of getting your mental health in check.
If you want someone who's going to be a Yes Man and someone who will tell you exactly what you want to hear, then Jocelyne is NOT the right fit for you. BUT! If you want someone who wholly advocates for you by challenging you, helping you with self awareness and telling you things straight up as she sees (or hears) it, then definitely

Jocelyne Gardner is, hands down, the person and professional I turn to for parenting help and wisdom, and for arriving at a better understanding of children with special needs. Her experience, humanity, generosity, and real desire to help parents and children is clear. A conversation with her is always illuminating and inspiring. I always leave my conversations with her with a clearer sense of what to do, on many different levels.

Jocelyne is someone I can always rely on to be a caring listening and a solution-oriented thinker. I have known Jocelyne for over 10 years and during that time I have seen her dedication to completing her degree and working towards her goal to be a licensed therapist. She has helped many friends navigate the special education system and she always has sound advice to help parents move beyond questions and worry to creating plans and creating practical solutions together. Jocelyne can look at family issues from multiple vantage points as a parent, and therapist to give the expert advice that is
