H.I.T. is an acronym that stands for "high-intensity training." H.I.T. is not new. In fact, it's been around since the early '70s and for the past ten years has been making a resurgence in popularity. H.I.T. is becoming popular for one reason and one reason only; it works! The fundamental principles of H.I.T. are that strength training should be brief, infrequent, and intense.
Personal training should be just as it's described; "personal." That means that not only should a trainer implement exercise programs designed specifically for the needs of his or her individual clients, but also be approachable, personable, and professional. The best personal trainers are the ones that "create" an environment in which their clients feel comfortable and inspired to do their best.
H.I.T. can work for you whether you're a top-notch athlete or someone who needs to get into shape. We train a whole cross variety of clients with H.I.T., which includes everyone from senior citizens to youth, and just about everyone in-between. With any vigorous physical activity, there are always risks for injury.
Make sure to ask a prospective trainer what certifications he or she has achieved. This is extremely important. Ask to see the trainer's certifications. They should be happy to show them to you, and they should be current and up to date. Also, remember that not all personal training certifications are alike.
I remember walking with a young man of about 34. I was about to do what at my old job was called a fitness coaching consultation. I began asking him questions about his goals and where he would like to go with his exercise program. He told me that he was a wrestler in high school and was in excellent shape.

The trainers do an awesome job with continuous ways to motivate. My entire family has trained here and they approach each person to their specific needs and goals. It’s truly refreshing to actually work with a staff that takes the time to get to know and help you accomplish great things. For us, it’s been life changing.

I am a 77 year old retired physician, and have been working with Tom for over 3 years prompted by a serious knee injury. Tom has helped me immensely. I am now able to ascend steps normally, and beginning to descend normally. This has been a major change for me. My improved overall body fitness, which is part of the program has greatly improved my quality of life.

I started training with Tom a couple of years ago. Since then my husband has joined me, and we train together. Tom is personable, knowledgeable, and customizes the workouts with the intent of gaining functional strength. I have noticed a big improvement in my strength and ability to do physical work since training at Weaver’s. Strength is important to maintain as one approaches retirement, as we are. The workouts also relieve stress for both of us. If you are looking for a safe and healthy activity to benefit your life, consider training with Tom.

As a client of Weaver Personal Training since 2009, please take my word for it that your time and money will both be well spent here. One 60 minute session per week is all you need to make that first step toward a stronger and healthier you. I can do aerobic exercise at home on my own. But for weight training, I want to train with someone that lives, breathes and eats fitness and health. That is what will you get here. My belief is that for every dollar I spend here, that will be one dollar I will not have to spend at a nursing home somewhere down the road. It's up to you!!!
