My 2 meat plate had 3 little slices of brisket and one rib. Thank goodness for the ample helping of doctored canned green beans and average velveta style cheese and macaroni. Maybe get the burger? For tourists only

These folks sell out fast. Ribs and brisket are great as are the sides. Good choice for lunch or dinner. Show up early or you maybe disappointed. About $30 for dinner for two.

I've only picked up food here. It's pretty good. I don't like the fact they don't taste their sandwich buns

Worst brisket I've ever had no bark/crust , no smoke flavor. Coleslaw was horrible , bread was extra stale, two meat plate was $21 and not worth it. Was very disappointed.

The staff was VERY friendly and informative as I tend to ask a lot of questions at new restaurants. Also, the place was very clean and neat.
I got the pork spare ribs and jalapeño sausage. I ribs were ok and I was not a fan of the sausage, Iprefer Elgin style sausage. The mustard potato salad was really good, green beans tasted like they were from a can. I wasnt a fan of the Mac and cheese, it was too runny. I also wasn't a fan of the peach cobbler.
Even tho there a lot of nots, the place was still friendly and I didnt try everything. I will probably give them another chance and give an update

They are not protecting their customers. Most patrons not wearing masks when entering. Avoid this place until Covid is over if you value your health or the people around you. BBQ is good.

Manager at golf course recommended Spykes BBQ and it was a good choice. Easy access location. Friendly staff. Not a large place but comfy. Great choice of meats and sides. I had brisket and sausage plate with beans and Mac&cheese. My fellow golfer had ribs. Brisket was moist and tasty. Sausage as well. My friend said the ribs were very good. Definitely recommend Spykes for your next meal.

I can always count on Spyke's for a good meal.
Then brisket is moist and tender without a lot of fat. The William's Special aka frito pie is awesome. Fritos, brisket, beans, cheese, and then add onions, jalapeños, and pickles..Yummy!!! The stuffed potatoe is also wonderful. They catered our wedding a few years ago and my family and friends still talk about the bbque from Spyke's.

This is not pit smoked brisket, might be electric smoker, no flavor, add carrots and potatoes, then, a nice roast

We used Spykes for catering at a work offsite event. The service was top notch and there was more than enough food for the amount of people. Hunter, the owner, was great!

We had:
*Brisket: Nice bark. On the black peppery side. Moist and tasty.
*Chicken: Surprisingly moist since chicken tends to dry out fast. Some items were a bit under cooked - near the bone in the thighs and drumstick. The ones that were fully cooked was real good.
*Mac and cheese: I prefer that wouldn't have black pepper (it was a visual thing with me)but other than that it was good. Wish it was a bit more cheesy.

Ribs and brisket fall off the bone tender. Best I've had in a very long time. Had just been to Pecan Lodge in Dallas and left disappointed. Everything at Spyke's was spot on - including the potato salad and cole slaw. In traveling through the Hill Country we will stop again.

Unfortunately, we won't be back. Wanted a hearty lunch after a nice morning on the water, so decided to stop in (as we've driven by a thousand times without checking it out). Fair service and nice people, but everything was SO SALTY. I couldn't finish my meal because it was so overwhelming. It would be one thing if it were just one item being over-salted , but it was everything. Makes me think this is likely their status quo. There is plenty of good bbq to choose from in this area, so it's not worth it to me to keep coming back.

Went out of the way going to the ranch for years too get this barbecue, but not anymore. The brisket is tender , but no flavor or smoke ring like in years past. Jalapeño sausage was great just like homemade, but that has changed now also. Why when someone builds a place on good product do they come along and change. Have given it several chances since the change, but no more in search of smoked barbecue again.

Good spot. Much saltier brisket rub than in used to but paired great with the thick almost coffee mole like sauce. The sausage is fair--wish I had tried the jalapeño sausage... next time. Wife liked the ribs a lot which are pork. I loved the mustard dill potato salad. Slaw is fair. Macaroni salad was very nice. Wife liked the beans. The sweet tea was on the money. The banana pudding was too sweet for me personally. All in it was a nice joint and I would come back.

Brisket? Great taste. Plenty of black pepper in the bark and it's more than moist. But the electric knife they're using just shreds the brisket into chopped beef. The ribs are also pretty decent. Both the ribs and the brisket have a good pepper kick and are cooked thoroughly. Both could also some more smoke flavor, though.

The sauce isn't anything to write home about. Slightly vinegar taste contrasted with some sweet, possibly honey. Definitely could use some work.

All in all, not the worst option if you're out that way -- and also some of the most inexpensive BBQ
