My goal is to help you obtain the joy, happiness, self-esteem and success that you want - and that you deserve! As a Board Certified Psychiatrist and a Diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, I am able to help you evaluate the problems that prevent you from achieving these and help you tailor a treatment program to do so.

I am in solo private practice and therefore I am able to tailor a treatment program specifically for you. Don't become a nameless, faceless number as so often happens in large clinics and medical organizations. I was raised in Miami, Florida.
Services
We carefully examine your symptoms and problems within the context of your current life stressors to understand the biopsychosocial factors contributing to your distress, establish an accurate diagnosis, and, most importantly, develop an individualized treatment plan. Our goal is to obtain remission of all symptoms, i.e. to help you achieve the joy, happiness, contentment and success that you desire!
Please recognize that most insurance plans allow you to see the psychiatrist of your choice, even if I am not a provider for your plan. You may be able to see me on an out-of-network basis. In this situation your insurance company will still pay for part of your services. Please feel free to contact my office if you have any questions about this.
The confidentiality of your personal health information is very important to me. Your health information includes records that I create and obtain when I provide you care, such as a record of your symptoms, examination and test results, diagnoses, treatments and referrals for further care. It also includes bills, insurance claims, or other payment information that I maintain related to your care.
From the North: Take 5 south, exit at Carlsbad Village Dr., turn left and go east on Carlsbad Village Dr. The office building is on the southeast corner of the first intersection you come to east of I 5 (the corner of Carlsbad Village Dr. and Pio Pico). We are on the top floor at the end of the hallway.

He is okay in terms of prescribing you your medication. What I felt was the problem was that he's not very emphathetic for a person needing help. If you don't believe me, Rating: 1.5 · ‎29 review from Yelp, Rating: 2.1 · ‎23 votes from Vitals.com. If a majority of people think the same thing, there is a good chance that there is some truth to it.

I am writing this review after some time has past, thinking i should just "let it go" but i feel that would be unfair to prospective patients who should stay away from this Doctor. Without writing a novel, 1) I was told the wrong price to get me in the door, then over charged, then took a while to get my money back.. 2) I was given medicine that interacted with my life saving heart medicine, almost killing me! Not exaggerating, my cardiologist said any psychiatrist SHOULD know not to mix what he prescribed me with what I TOLD him i was currently on. 3) my whole appointment was useless, he basically

Simply excellent! Dr. Sobel is polite, friendly, and caring but also cuts right the chase. He does not stop until he is sure you have reached the maximum benefits from the medication prescribed. I feel very fortunate to have been referred to him.

After seeing all the not so good reviews, I was apprehensive in giving Dr. Sobel a call, but I went for it and am so very grateful that I did. The first time I called in I was greeted with a very detailed voicemail in which I left my message according to the directions given. Less than 30 minutes later, Dr. Sobel personally returned my call and I instantly knew those bad reviews I had seen were far from the truth. He is very knowledgeable about the disorder I have and courteous of my time during appointments. He is very friendly and has a positive attitude that I really appreciate; much different

This man is extremely hostel and impatient! I had a death in the family and was unable to make my appointment. I was called by doctor sobel Immediately, chewed out for missing my appointment. I’ve never felt so small speaking with a man who is supposed to help people. I would be very aware of this mans short temper. It’s seems like his need for clients is causing some real issues with his attitude.

Best Psychiatrist I've ever been to. I spent years being misdiagnosed and after 2 sessions with him we had a diagnosis and on the right meds. It's been over a year and I'm feeling much better. He is very thorough. I would definitely recommend him.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS GUY!!! I saw him for several years. He is narcissist and does not care about you. He will bully you and withhold needed medication from you. He is a monster that needs his prescription pad taken away before he hurts more people.

This is a man who doesn't see you as the symptoms that led you to seek help. He doesn't see a chemistry set (your brain and body) on which he can practice and play with pharmaceuticals and psychotropic drugs. He sees a patient who is suffering and he works to understand every angle of his patients' "condition."
He is not necessarily warm and fuzzy. He will shoot you straight (which is a style that I actually really like).
But he is kind, compassionate, understanding, supportive, and has the knowledge and skills to get a much more comprehensive view of his patients' psyche - a practice necessary
