Uncharted Tattoo opened its doors in 2017 in Bryant Park, Manhattan, NYC. The shop owner, Yang Lee, has over ten years of experience as a tattoo artist, tattoo shop owner, and piercer. All artists at this studio are seasoned professionals who consistently create clean custom tattoos. The artists specialize in American and Asian traditional, illustrative and micro-style tattoos.
Lee is an extremely versatile tattoo artist who can tattoo many styles. Over the years he has refined his own style which is influenced by Asian and American traditional style tattooing. He has been a tattoo artist and shop owner in New York City for 12 years. Uncharted Tattoo is located on 6th Avenue between 38th St. and 39th St., just a few blocks south of Bryant Park and the New York Public Library.

Services
For sizable tattoos we may ask that you pay a deposit before your appointment date. This is so the tattoo artist can work on your tattoo design before you come in. Your deposit amount will be applied to your final tattoo payment. Deposits are non-refundable and non-transferable. Appointment cancellations must be made at least 24 hours prior to your appointment or your deposit will be forfeited.

This was my first tattoo at this shop, but certainly not my last! The artist, Mony (@zel_tatts), did a wonderful job at bringing this ladybug to life! The shop was exceptionally clean and all safety measures were taken to ensure a healthy workspace and session! Friendly atmosphere, knowledgeable and skilled artists, and an easy location to visit. I couldn’t be happier with the results!

If I could give negative stars, I would. I am a physician and was accompanying my friend for a piercing. DO NOT GO HERE. The receptionist made my friend pay for the piercing beforehand. They made us wait before taking us to a cordoned off small area. The piercer didn't even ask which side she wanted her nose pierced. We did not watch him take out the materials from sterile packaging. He did not change out his nonsterile gloves for sterile ones. It was not done in a sterile fashion. It seems like many people had a similar experience.

Uncharted Tattoo is a great place! The staff is insanely talented, professional and welcoming. I got a tattoo form Mony and can honestly say it was the best tattoo experience I've gotten. She was so friendly, clean and amazing. Good vibes overall! If you're thinking about it or in the area, I would highly recommend seeing her!

I went here in late April as a walk-in to get my first nose piercing done and was unfortunately very disappointed with my experience which was frankly quite bizarre as well. The piercer was extremely impatient with me and made me feel uncomfortable and even tried to make me feel ashamed for being nervous.

I would say this is the worst tattoo place on earth, there is a tattoo artist that works there named Leo WORST COMMUNICATOR all I wanted was two little tattoos on my fingers and he couldn't do it cause i didn't want it past my knuckles. The staff was extremely friendly and their tattoo flash was beautiful. HOWEVER- do NOT get pierced here. The earring he used in my cartilage was a 20 gauge normal earring like one you would use in a piercing gun. He didn't sterilize anything. Told me I could not get higher up on my ear pierced, and then did the piercing crooked so that you can see the back from the side. Had I not paid for the piercing before the piercer even arrived, I wouldn't have gone through with it. Long story short, I could've received a better piercing at a Claire's.

Lee did my flower tatt. What threw me off initially is i messaged them here via yelp, and apparently that means i am scheduling with Lee himself. All i messaged was if i can walk in at a certain time and what i wanted. That was all!!! I went to the shop only knowing i made an appointment via yelp and i asked if Jack one of the lady there can do it for me. There were 3 artists there total and they were all free. I've been going to Uncharted Tattoo since before I even moved to nyc. The shop is great and clean. They're always playing good music, and the lounge is super comfortable. Mike Labita - @mikeltattoos has been doing all of the work on me and I couldn't be happier! He's always making good tattoos and does an amazing job every time I'm in (which is pretty frequently.) I absolutely recommend getting tattooed at Uncharted!

Got a tattoo done here by Lee about a week ago and I couldn't be happier! Lee is such an amazing artist and very nice-- he really knows what he's doing. He gave me some great suggestions for the idea I brought in, and it exceeded my expectations. This is my second tattoo done at Uncharted and everyone at the shop is always so nice-- its also in a great location and very clean. Will definitely be coming back for more, highly recommend! If you're in the NY area and are looking to get a tattoo, definitely stop by.

I got a piercing here - Uncharted is super great. I came in to get the other half of my snake bites, having already had one side done elsewhere, a long time ago.
I can unreservedly recommend them!
Pros: First off, their shop is really lovely - minimal design, good art/flash on the walls, and the central waiting couch is comfy, which was nice. Everyone from start to finish was super cool, kind, and engaging. It's definitely a welcoming environment to go and get poked at.
Cons: I booked an appointment through their website, and the piercer wasn't onsite, so I had to wait for them

Came here while visiting New York with my boyfriend to get my first tattoo. Was very pleased with this place. Lee did my tattoo and did a great job, I was very scared because it was my first tattoo and I got it on my foot which is a more painful spot but it turned out great and is exactly what I wanted. Adam and Lee were both super friendly and it was a very clean shop. They are new and upcoming so definitely go check this place out!

My dad and I walked in to get a quick family letter done on our arms while on a trip to NY with the whole family. Jackie was our artist and she was so good. Granted we only wanted the letter "V" to resemble our last name, super simple (it's become our family tradition), but Jackie was flexible, walked us through which fonts we wanted, what sizes worked, where the placement would look good, etc. It was a great experience, especially for my dad who was getting his first ever tattoo.
