Services
We believe that prevention of disease is by far superior to the elimination of the disease. Our hygienists are highly skilled and trained, each with over 25 years of experience in our office. Although gum disease is extremely pervasive, it's also preventable. Conservative estimates report that up to 80% of people unknowingly have some amount of chronic gum disease.
In our State College office, we offer tooth colored fillings that bond to the tooth structure protecting against decay and strengthening the tooth. We find these fillings to be conservative, durable and attractive. Older-style silver mercury fillings do not bond but are held in the tooth by mechanical means.
Our office offers metal-free crowns or caps that permanently covers weakened teeth. This service can protect the tooth against damage that can occur from normal wear and tear or when a tooth is damaged, cracked or decayed. Our crowns are made from ceramic material which has the most natural appearance.
A bridge is one of the ways to fill a space where a tooth has either fallen out or has been removed. Bridges are either bonded or cemented into place by using adjacent teeth to support the replacement teeth. Sometimes, without the use of a bridge, other more serious problems can occur including jaw and bite misalignment leading to headaches and grinding of the teeth along with other more serious problems.
Implants are one of the best ways to replace missing teeth and preserve the bone. They generally last longer than either bridges or partial dentures. Implants can also be used to support partial dentures and prevent dislodging or uncomfortable movement to the denture base. Implants typically involve a three step process and can help you achieve a natural and healthy smile.
