Services
We're dedicated to providing personalized, professional and compassionate services to help lighten your burden and support you through the difficult times that follow the loss of a loved one. We're honored to assist you in your time of need, and would like to assure you that we'll do everything in our power to make your experience a meaningful and memorable one.
The Edward B. Korkoian Funeral Home (Spiller-Spitler Chapel) was founded in 1949 by Edward B. Korkoian. He started his business at the Perry Funeral Home in Detroit. In 1952, he purchased the Sevald-McCarthy Funeral Home. Then in 1968, he purchased the Severance Funeral Home and changed the name to the Colonial Chapel-Edward Korkoian Funeral Home.
Our experienced and professional staff are here to guide you through the creation of a service that reflects your values, your preferences, and your loved one's individual life story. We offer a variety of ways for you to honor their life, pay tribute, and celebrate special memories as you begin to heal and find closure.
Planning your funeral arrangements in advance allows you to take your time in deciding how you'd like to be celebrated after you're gone. It also lets you give invaluable peace of mind to your family members by removing the burden of making those personal decisions during such an emotionally difficult time.
Losing someone you love or care deeply about is very painful. You may experience a variety of difficult emotions, and it's sometimes hard to imagine that the anger and sadness you feel will ever fade. It's important to remember that grief is a natural and normal reaction to a significant loss, and that you're not alone.

Mr. Christ Kirk piano made us feel like part of his own family. And he even spoke a few words at my grandma irenes funeral today. You couldn’t ask for a kinder man. He met all our needs for my grandmother. And we felt we were at home whenever we spoke to him. We will always count on korkoian for all our funerals. Thanks again sir for making it a little easier with our loss. Sincerely the whole tufen

Both my father's and mother's arrangements and funeral were taken care of here. You won't find a more helpful, caring and compassionate group in a families time of need and sorrow. Thank you so very much.

On the behalf of my family, we would like to extend our thankfulness and gratitude for supporting us as we mourned the loss of our wonderful husband/father, as well as assisting in all of the final arrangements. You consistently insured that all details were addressed and solved every challenge that arose while ensuring all of our accommodations were met. At a great time of stress, you relieved us of those heavy burdens. We cannot thank you and the entire excellent team enough for that.

My mom passed in October 5, 2016, per her request she was cremated. My dad age 88 was hospitalized and we were waiting for him to get better for her memorial. God had other plans as my dad died November 10, 2016 and also will be cremated. We will have a joint service December 16, 2016 on their 61st anniversary. It seems fitting. The Korkoian's have ALL been supportive, patient, understanding and more through this difficult time. Special thanks to Chris, Nancy and Edward.
