Elfs Farm Winery & Cider Mill
Elfs Farm Winery and Cider House is a family owned farm winery, located in Plattsburgh, NY. It is also home to ADK Hard Cider. The Frey family produces locally grown grape, fruit and apple wines. The farm began producing sweet cider in 2005 & growing cold climate grapes in 2006. The first wines & hard ciders were produced in 2007.

The devastating incident caused the total loss of the tasting room, product and years worth of work. Fortunately, none of the grapes were harmed in the fire and plans for rebuilding soon began. After 2 long years of hard work, Elfs Farm Winery was reopened on Memorial Day 2013. Our tasting room is open everyday but Mondays for wine tastings and wine & cider served by the glass.

Don’t waste your time looking at their website as it has completely incorrect hours. Very frustrated driving from out of town to visit, only to find they closed for the season. Don’t listen to winter hours posted.

The Moscow mule slushy is amazing! Also I’m a big fan of the Black Currant cider. They are open again for beverages, but still waiting on reopening of the kitchen. Their food was so good, I can’t wait for it to be back.

I live in the Mid-Hudson Valley and I often visit the Plattsburg area. Elf's is always a must stop. I NEVER had a bad experience. Check your attitude at the door and enjoy this family owned establishment.

This place is amazing. The raw wine is some of the best I've ever had and so are the burgers, which are big, juicey and full of delicious flavor. The setting is cool, it's right next to their vinyard and has cool details inside like a floor made out of pennies. The staff is friendly and make you feel welcome and at home. I wish that I lived a little closer so I could go more often!

Really easy to miss this gem. Fortunately was able to stop before we passed the entrance. Comfortable, unique decor. Check out the floor made of pennies. Outside has a tented area with tables and chairs. Server and bartender were very helpful in describing home made (fermented) hard ciders and local craft beers. Had a flight of each. Then we split the smoked chicken dinner special. Smoked chicken had just the right amount of bbq sauce and the flavor was to die for!

The beverages were amazing and the food was very delicious. The cider, the bloody Mary's,and the bourbon coffee were all enjoyed. The ribs were the best ever!!! The corn beef hash was out of this world. I'm sure the menu is correct in stating the staff fights over the leftovers. This lovely family treasure was welcoming and the service was top notch. P.S. the whole Maine lobsters were steamed perfect. Hope you had a wonderful father's day Tom. My family and I did because of yours!

Returned to Elf's Farm after two years. Met with Sean and learned that the wine production had been decreased (probably down to about four wines) and there were not any wines available for purchase except for the Serendipitous white. A red wine was available for drinking (which was delicious) but no reds bottled for purchase. We were kind of disappointed (as we were prepared to buy a few bottles) as it looks like Elf's Winery has taken a different direction (more hard cider and food items and events) away from the wine production. We visit Vermont annually and enjoyed the ride and

The owner is wonderful, and the food is delicious.
It's rare to find an owner as particular about his food and wine and it makes a world of difference. From triple filtering the water for wine to using grass-fed beef for the burgers, the details make the experience incredible. Highly recommend this hidden gem.

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit both due to the excellent ciders (maple is a must) and the fantastic atmosphere. The owner was knowledgeable, welcoming and a pleasure to interact with. Definitely recommend visiting it.
Please contact us if you ever guess how many pennies the floor is made out of :)

We were wandering the town of Plattsburgh on a December weekend when we stumbled along this place. We each ordered a flight of ciders/wine. We ended up talking to Tom for almost 2 hours. He gave us some history of Plattsburgh, things to do around the area, told us a few stories, and even gave us a little life advice! We had a wonderful time talking to him.
I've been to a few cider tastings and this place stood out. The ciders didn't all taste the same and definitely weren't watered down as I've experienced in other places. The flavors were creative and unique. This place has

Sean was so friendly and helpful from my first foot in the door - he not only was helping me with my way around Plattsburgh but him and his dad also gave me great recommendations for the rest of my trip. Great wine and cider (seriously, it's delicious!), great conversation, and a great atmosphere. This will always be a favorite of mine.
Can't wait until my next visit!

This was our lunch destination on our 22nd wedding anniversary. What a great choice. Tried most if the ciders and wines, all were amazing. I can see why they won so many awards. Ordered a sampler plate and a burger, both were really tasty. Sean, the owner/brewmaster/vintner took great care of us and made the visit personal and perfect. Looking forward to our next visit.

Absolutely loved the cider & wine tasting here! The Mac cider was my favorite of the beverages I sampled, and the Waffle & Chicken (with real maple, of course!) was delicious. I wish I had been staying in the area for longer so I could have taken home a growler of their cider too :-)

Everything about this place was incredible. Had the cider flight, which was super tasty. My favorite was the strawberry cider. Though we came for the cider, the food was also amazing. Had the wings, fish and chips, NY strip steak with garlic mashed potatoes and the glazed carrots. All of it was so delicious, with nice healthy portions. The owner was more hospitable, and after a truly wonderful evening, we had to take dessert, the lemon drop, and a bottle of the Adirondack Red home. Perfectly semi-sweet, I'm just upset that I can't get it back at home. :( I would highly recommend Elf

Really excellent time here. The bar inside is super neat and the family was nice and offered us a sandwich. The wine flight we did was tasty and cider flight was even better. The apricot cider was delicious. Probably our favorite stop on the "wine trail."

Stopped in doing the touristy thing. The outside has a rustic farm feel. We walked in to do some tastings. Expecting a small room with a simple bar we were surprised that is was a cozy eclectic bar with some locals enjoying cider on tap. We got a friendly greeting from the owner and proceeded to sample all they had to offer. Starting from dry to sweet each wine and cider was explained in detail of origin and what flavors to expect. He also gave great tips about the area. We left with a strawberry rhubarb wine and strawberry cider. Super nice people and cool fun place to stop.

Went in to check this place out on a Wednesday afternoon. Tom was very friendly and talkative, letting is taste all their delightful offerings from the ciders to the wines.
I love the atmosphere in the tasting room, and I'm so glad they have bounced back since the fire a few years ago.

When it's time to leave, take note that their ADK Mac original cider is available in 6 pack cans (haven't seen that before!), and the others in 22 oz bottles. Awesome products, and great people!

Great local brewery if you're into ciders and wines. Had the strawberry ale, and the apple wine both of which were very good. They also have a strawberry rhubarb wine which we tasted and ended up buying a bottle of. The place seemed like a locals hangout spot only at first but as we got settled in to our drinks and started talking with the brewer we were quickly accepted. They even offered fresh grilled chicken for us to try.

We walked into this place feeling as though we somehow stepped into a family event- there was yummy looking chicken on the grill, and people all around just laughing and imbibing together.

We got to the bar and the server was friendly and welcoming- we were able to quickly sample some wine and cider since we just missed their tastings (offered until 6). I got the strawberry cider which was really good- light, fruity but not overly sweet. My husband got the apple wine, which was not my fav but he enjoyed it a lot. We then tasted the rhubarb wine which was out of this world (and we bought a bottle
