Life guarantees us some portion of necessary losses, troubled feelings, as well as happiness along the way.
Are you experiencing problems within yourself, at work, or with your intimate others? Do you want your life to be different? If so you have to act and think differently. Sometimes we can work things out by ourselves. Other times we need more than just a friend to lean on. If you are thinking it is time to start therapy with an experienced professional I am willing to help.

Services
I have met some important goals and sometimes fallen short. Like most of us, I have had unexpected losses in my family and have witnessed loved ones die. I belong to a small book group dedicated to classical/modern fiction. I am also a serious reader of science, philosophy, physics, history, nature, anthropology, and economics.
I work with a wide range of clients concerned about their work and relationships. Among my patients are lawyers, policemen, bankers, physicists, doctors, nurses, and professionals in business, clergy, artists, teachers and career mothers. I also work with adolescents and pre-adolescents. My ongoing training throughout my professional life has allowed me to integrate a range of expertise.
In addition to diagnostic assessment in psychotherapy, I provide separate psychological assessment services for adults. Psychological assessment of intelligence, achievement, and personality strengths, can help clarify the diagnosis of specific problems, as well as suggest appropriate treatments. I am especially interested in identifying a person's natural strengths and utilizing them for therapeutic progress.
After completion of my Ph. D., I completed training as a group psychotherapist from the National Training Lab in Bethel, Maine (1974-1977). I served as an Assistant Professor of Psychology at Coker College, South Carolina (1975-1977). During this time, I also provided group therapy for Vietnam Veterans suffering from PTSD.
Appointments are available Monday through Thursday. Individual sessions are typically 60 minutes and couple or familiy sessions are 90 minutes. He was 11 months older and functioned as the brother I never had. Three things made him a friend in those days. 1) His ability to listen intensely to what I was saying--even then, before his professional training. I always had the sense he wanted to understand. And more--to perceive what I was feeling. He didn't always "get me", but I usually knew he was trying. 2) His perceptive questions that went
