Our focus in Guatemala is providing preventive healthcare programs in schools and scholarships for Guatemalans who want to be healthcare professionals. The programs are building blocks for future health not only for the students but also for their families and communities. We are passionate about inspiring, empowering and enabling people to redefine their lives.

After years of providing healthy life tools and dependable service, we are slowly but surely seeing and being the change. Why is helping in Guatemala so important? On average, Guatemalan children attend only four years of schooling and only three out of ten students graduate from sixth grade. The poverty rate in Guatemala is very high.
Services
Creating Opportunities in Guatemala through sustainable wellness programs and health career scholarships. Shared Beat started in 2006 to fulfill a need for medical support in an educational reinforcement project, Safe Passage, serving the children living around the Guatemala City dump. Motivated by the lack of quality basic healthcare access for these children and their families, our work has evolved to focus on sustainable objectives.

The entire cancer treatment process feels like a joke. such incompetent people treat our loved ones. This hospital nurses are decent but the nurse aids/ assistants have the worst attitude and have arrogance that is not needed when already having emotionally draining days with our suffering loved ones. Disorganized chaos and constant delays in appts

Absolutely phenomenal. I was misdiagnosed with high-grade endocrine cancer. DF ran tons of tests - tests I didn't even understand - and found out I had another type of stage 3 cancer, one that needed an entirely different chemo drug. They don't take anybody's word for anything. They got the original biopsy slides and reran everything in their own lab. I believe I am alive today because of them.

I Love, love, love Dana Farber. The Monday vibe .. not good when the nurse enters the room, immediately stands with her back to the patients spouse, never says hello or introduces herself or the person shadowing her.
I get that she's there for the patient, of course, but a simple acknowledgement/hello and introduction goes a long way.

Absolutely the best hospital for cancer care. Everyone, and I mean everyone, who works there is outstanding. Friendly, nice, helpful and kind. The atmosphere is wonderful. You can feel it the minute you enter.

Received a consultation at DF on 8/25/21. Three specialists came into the exam room to answer my questions and assess my rare condition. The appointment and check in process was efficient and the staff helpful. This facility is excellent.

UsedDana Farber for a 2nd opinion in regards to my wife's cancer and it turned into a comedy of errors. The consultation was done online due to Covid and had to be rescheduled a number of times because Dana Farber kept dropping the ball as far as getting all the records. Finally we had the consultation and to our surprise the doctor had none of the previous test results from the original hospital even though we were assured by their staff all was done. Had the consultation anyway and the doctor assured us he'd look into it. Now here's the best part, the billing! We get billed for the consultation

What I hate about the DF Dr are never on time the poorest I’ve ever seen and the staff can never give you a straight answer. When you go there plan on spending the day for and hour visit never get a straight answer on how long it’s gonna be. And when you finally see the Dr they will stare at the computer screen and not look at you. What they don’t get the last thing I wanna do is spend the day here just to see a Dr that looks at a computer screen and they can’t ever get there appointments right.

Been a patient here since February of 2016 and it's a terrific and top-notch cancer treatment facility. My doctor, Dr. Daniel D'Angelo, my nurse practitioner, Katherine Edmonds, and my infusion nurse, Jeneanne Sudai (not sure if I spelled her first name correctly) were wonderful staff who worked hard to cure me from full lymphoblastic lymphoma. I come here every six months for a checkup and a CT scan, I'm always happy to see them during my visit, and they're always happy to see me as well. I will always be thankful to Dana Farber for everything they have done for me!
