55 years ago, Lila Delman was not afraid to do things differently. Raising a family and running her own real estate company since 1964, Lila lived and loved history, teaching her children about architecture with the buildings around their Narragansett home.
As real estate developers began tearing down the Gilded Age mansions, Lila took preservation efforts into her own hands- dragging a stone Pelican statue from the demolished Dunemere Estate, and saving a series of antique chandeliers.Her unique vision set her apart and put a dream in motion. That aspiration, the company she built and the artifacts she saved became part of the legacy that thrives to this day.

*UPDATE and EDIT* Lila Delman has offered a partial refund, approximately 95%. I am not entirely sure why only a portion since I was in the house no more than an hour or 2. Nonetheless, I am relieved to have this resolved and will receive my refund in about 2 weeks.

This was the first time we rented on Block Island. I had thought due to the price we paid thru this rental agency that we would have been taken care of but this was not the case. No one told us that this was one of the most difficult to reach and remote locations on the island or that the driveway was so unkempt that the undercarriage of our car was dented do to lack of maintenance. And I am not saying little potholes either... literally falling apart and people didn’t want to tackle driveway! I had the pleasure of hiring Laureen Koch to sell my home in Saunderstown. We met purely by accident and I liked her right away. She gave me the best advice on how to prepare the property and she showed it with great knowledge and enthusiasm. She found us an out of state cash buyer who loved the home I once loved so much, and in 3 weeks it was sold. We had an awful experience renting through Lila Delman this summer. The house we rented was absolutely filthy, infested with spiders (killed 10 in one bedroom on first night and found nests under dining room table), Rx sleeping pills found on the hallway floor (we are a family with a small

I cannot recommend Lila Delman Real Estate enough! I had the pleasure of working with one of their realtors, Kara Churas, who completely exceeded our expectations. We were looking for a summer rental for our family, and she was so professional, friendly, courteous, and went the extra mile to ensure we received the property we were looking for. She was always extremely responsive, often within minutes of any emails being sent. We will absolutely be using Lila Delman again for our vacation searches, and especially Kara!! While looking for a 3 month summer rental, the rental agent told me multiple times that housing “would be expensive during that time”, I told her that that was fine and I had several thousand to spend per month. She proceeded to be condescending but told me she did have a couple houses available. I gave her my contact info in order to send me listings and never heard another word. Very unprofessional.

Went to URI, and rented from Lila Delman for 3 out of the 4 years! The staff was always super helpful, and always got back to us in a timely manner. As long as you are a good student, and want a nice house, Lila Delman is the place to go!! Because of my great experience with the rental staff, ended up returning to Lila Delman to purchase my first home.

Extremely rude and unhelpful staff. Will show up late to showings. If you are a student renting for academic year they have very strict rules to just view a house let alone rent it (which they won't tell you upfront). Houses may look nice, but dealing with the company is not worth it. Look elsewhere!
