John Palmer Moving & Storage has a rich history spanning 88 years. In 1928 John Palmer started John Palmer Trucking operating out of a small office and storage area on Bradford Street in West Concord, MA. When John retired in 1971 his brother, Lennie, and his nephew, Craig, former company employees, bought the business.
In 1978 Lennie's other son, Nate, joined the partnership. By 1979 the Palmers built a warehouse in West Concord, MA and became John Palmer Moving & Storage, Inc. In 1980 the company continued to expand. A second warehouse, serving as new headquarters, at 7 Craig Rd, Acton, MA was purchased. In 1981 the Palmers became an agent for American Red Ball Transit Company, winning numerous awards for their long distance service.

Reliable. Responsible. Respectful. 3 words least associated with a moving company, but they describe John Palmer Moving. Nick M. provided an accurate estimate (translating to a transparent bill). The Driver & Crew arrived exactly on-time on Moving Day and were efficient, respectful of property and us, and courteous. Bob in Operations provided pre-move reassurance and excellent day-of and post-move follow-up. Great experience.

Family owned and operated and I LOVE THEM. They are very accommodating even during times I'm frustrated for unrelated reasons or any confusion I had regarding my storage unit. What sealed the deal was having the opportunity to cancel my storage and yet, they were still trying to help me with other options outside of their company. I've found all the people at John Palmer very helpful and responsive. Due to unforeseen circumstances, we've had to store our household belongings for several years and I've had to access the vaults. I learned that they now have all new computer systems so they know what delivery went into which vault. That will be very helpful. I would recommend them.

Robert Harris scheduled our move from Rockland, Massachusetts to Derry, New Hampshire for a November 29th move date. He checked in with me several times prior to the move, which helped to alleviate the stress that goes along with moving. Two days before the move, again I was contacted by the company, verifying address, time, and the three movers who would be moving us. All three men were professional in every way. My wedding ring was stolen from these idiots, and nothing was done about it. The packing job was awful, with many of our items being damaged. They sent different clowns out everyday, and none of them seemed to know what was going on. Moving day was an absolute joke! The girl who works the phones had to call her husband in (who didn't work there) to help load the truck. He was the friendliest guy there. The whole thing was an AWFUL experience!!!

Having moved 3 times recently this company is always on the sheet of movers from our realtor. No idea why as this seems like a pretty poorly run company. The woman on the phone is rude and makes you feel like you are wasting their time. Don't businesses like, want your business? I felt she just wanted to be done talking to me. The only time I was able to get them to actually give me an estimate- it was almost double the amount of 3 other places. Save your time and money in my opinion. (Moving tip- Ferrick Brothers moving company has awesome customer service and very fair prices.)
