Edward J. Nolter graduated from the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford with a degree in public relations and sociology, where he earned the Communication's Department Student of the Year Award in 2004. He then earned his Juris Doctorate from Western Michigan University - Thomas M. Cooley Law School, graduating cum laude.
Ed helped me with my first adoption and everything went so smoothly he handled everything and told me what I needed to do to get this done. We had less than 30 days to have everything together filed and ready. He really stepped up and we had it all done a week before the baby's due date. I wouldn't have even known where to start without him.
It's a common misconception in Texas that filing for a divorce is quick and easy. The truth is, however, that for many people, filing for divorce is stressful. This is a complex and lengthy process. Then there is the worry and anxiety about the future and upcoming changes often leave many parties preoccupied, distracted and unable to think clearly.
How long will my divorce take? In Texas, you must wait 60 days from the time you file until your divorce is final, even if the divorce is uncontested. However, the divorce cases that actually reach resolution on the 61st day are rare. Since Texas is a community property state, can you expect a "50-50" split of assets in a divorce?
If you live in North Texas and have made the decision to end your marriage, filing for a divorce is something you should consider. If your relationship with your spouse is cooperative, you can save yourself both time and expense by avoiding divorce litigation.
Divorce law, however, is more complex than one might realize, so it is a good idea to still use an experienced divorce attorney to draft and review any terms or agreement you intend to enter into with your ex-spouse before signing a Final Decree of Divorce. At The Nolter Law Firm, we have helped many individuals with uncontested and contested divorces over the years.

Mr. Nolter is a very knowledgeable and compassionate lawyer and I felt very comfortable working with him and his team. He is very prompt, professional and kind. He was non-judgemental and worked with us to help us get to a good outcome. He doesn't oversell his services or scare you to bill higher fees. His billing was very fair and having dealt with him, I feel very happy and grateful to have found him to represent me. His assistant, Lupe, is also very good to deal with and always provides prompt responses.

I will start off by saying I have hired attorneys before who I ended up having an issue with one way or another. This time around, I have done so much research and read reviews and spoken with many attorneys and ended up hiring Ed for a child custody case because he seemed to be the most reasonably priced and someone who believed in me and my case. He was very responsive and understanding of my situation the entire time from the initial consultation to the close of my case and even available for minor follow up questions after. We ended up settling outside of court due to Ed’s knowledge and advice

Mr. Nolter performed a fantastic job representing my case. I would hire him back in the future with no questions asked. He is direct, prompt, precise, resourceful, experienced, and wonderful to work with. My case was a rather difficult one, in which other attorneys would not even accept. Mr. Nolter took my case and was very successful and diligent in ensuring everything was documented properly and quickly, resulting in a very much needed win. I will recommend Mr. Nolter to anyone I meet who requires a great results driven attorney.
Thank you Mr. Nolter for everything!! I have my life back now

Ed Nolter is by far the best attorney I have ever had representing me. I have gone through 2 divorces. In both cases I had poor experiences with both attorneys. So much so that when my ex sued me to get payments to me terminated/reduced I refused to even hire an attorney. I figured I had better chance of just handling everything myself. Pretty late in the game I decided to find attorney based on positive reviews. I found Ed Nolter and scheduled a consult.
I felt 100% at peace with my decision to use him. During mediation when I was ready to give in, he stepped in and fought for me and had my best

I was looking for someone honest and straightforward, not give me false hope and out to take my money. Ed’s helped me in more areas then one. Very easy to work with. Knowledgeable. Stays in contact as well as keeping up with your case or cases. Giving up dates and honest pricing up front. Polite staff. And overall made the process easier. He earns his money and cares about your well-being. I would use him again.
