Dr. Sharma completed his residency and fellowship training at The University of Virginia. He is board certified in adult psychiatry as well as child and adolescent psychiatry. Dr. Sharma served as Medical Director at FMRS Health Systems, Inc., a Community Mental Health Center, Chief of Psychiatry at Beckley Appalachian Regional Hospital and Medical Director of Adult Behavioral Unit at Medical City McKinney Wysong.
NeuroStar uses transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) technology to target critical areas of the brain underactive in people with depression. It is not the same as the ECT (electroconvulsive therapy). Though the exact cause of depression is unknown, the principal scientific opinion is that it is produced by an imbalance of the brain's neurotransmitters, which are chemical messengers that send signals between brain cells.

Dr. Sharma is a miracle worker that saves many people dealing with mental health issues. I was hopeless at first, but Dr.Sharma always had a plan to every problem I encountered. He is really good at personalizing a plan accustomed to your needs. The TMS treatment offered at the office changed my life. It helped treat my depression and anxiety more than I could imagine. I have been a patient with Innova Psychiatric Group for a year or so now and my overall experience with the entire staff has been excellent! Dr. Sharma and Crystal Dean, FNP (though she has moved on to a different practice now) has shown and continues to show great care in listening to my concerns and struggles and then providing clinical resolutions that may be helpful for my condition. I was asked by my neurologist why I travel from Denison to McKinney to see Dr. Sharma when I could see someone ten minutes from where I live. I told him because I trust him to take care of my health. Dr. Sharma is a smart, kind and caring Dr. who really cares about you. I was a former TEMPORARY employee for Dr. Sharma. It was BY far the worst experience I have ever had working for someone. He made me feel as if I did not belong with them. He is very rude and not professional. I say they are not professional because they would speak about other employees with other employees and that was the Dr and manager who did those things. After bringing my concerns to the mgr she took them to the Dr and he did not care about my concerns he simply told the mgr to tell me i can quit so I did but now I am being harassed and bullied by their employee, Sherica Ford. If you are looking for the best Child or Adolescent Psychiatrist in the DFW area, look no further. We have been a patient of Dr. Sharma's for almost one year, and have NEVER had an unpleasant experience. When we were going into the office for appointments the office was very clean, the wait time was minimal if any, the ladies in the front office are kind and efficient.
