Once again Marin Mac Tech for the save. I brought my MacBook Pro on vacation to the jungle, a bad move. It overheated editing video and shut down permanently. Shiva remotely, but patiently tried several reset options to see if he could breathe life into it. While it didn't work, it gave me the answers I needed to make the proper decision on what to do next. He is truly a pleasure and highly professional to work with. I've worked with Marin Mac Tech for a number of years. I started working with Travis, who was terrific, and for the last few years, have worked with Shiva. Absolutely wonderful. Shiva Das saved my life. I dropped my macbook and it wouldn't turn on or anything. He was able to recovery everything for me and even fixed it up cosmetically. I cant believe how fast he was too. I don't know what I would have done. Seriously, Shiva is your dude for every single mac/apple issue. He's the master.

I have been through many of the techs in Marin, and the team at Marin Mac Tech are by far the best. They have helped me through numerous iterations of my gaming rig over the years. From running Ethernet directly to my computer from another room, setting up virtual machines and upgrading hardware. Shiva and Travis have always handled everything I’ve thrown at them with professionalism and brilliance. I give Marin Mac Tech my highest recommendation.

DO NOT USE this company! Complete false advertising. They quoted me saying the work would cost a maximum of $500, and wouldn't do any work unless they had my permission first. They did the work and then the bill came to over $1,000. I did not pay and then they threatened to take it to collections. They didn't even have my signature on any kind of contract. I was so irritated with the whole process after they hounded me with calls and texts, that I finally paid them almost $500, for basically nothing. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY with this company. I suggest going elsewhere.

After selling me a program for monitoring ,they never responded after 3 weeks of attempts thru emails and phone calls, to get passwords to use
the program- and also selling me
equipment I didn't need. I was unable to use what I paid for . Poor communication. Poor customer service.
They responded by refunding money- minus restocking fees-

2 years ago I wrote a review regarding Marin Mac Tech. I have continued to use them with total satisfaction ever since. Recently I realized that most of my tech stuff was so old and out of date that some of it would no longer update. I decided to bite the bullet and get a new iPhone, iPad, MacBook Pro and a new 27 in. iMac. I wanted them to all be in sync. Over the past 2 years Shiva has become familiar with my tech use and needs so I called on him to guide me through making the best choices and to order any extras as far as storage and memory were concerned. Marin Mac Tech used to offer efficient reliable service, but the last few times I've used his service, he has seemed much more interested in padding his bill and selling me unnecessary expensive gear. This most recent experience was the worst. Took in my NAS, ran up a large bill running diagnostic tests, told me it was the power supply, I ordered a new power supply, tells me it's still broken and now I should buy a very expensive one from him. Ridiculous. Not sure what happened to cause this slide.

Hurray for competent people and a well-run small company! I went to Yelp to find someone to help me clean up my Mac and advise me on how to improve performance. I was pretty much expecting to be told my iMac was too old to work with...but no. Shiva comes exactly on time and says "No problem. Great machine...just needs extra space". Hurray! Also advises on improvements to overall Wifi, etc. that MMT does not receive any profit from, and provides the resources on where to get best price. Called them and left a message on a Thursday about a month ago. I also emailed the same day using their website form, indicating the specific issues I was having (model, OS, RAM, etc.). The next day I got a return call from their admin saying only that someone would come to my house and it would cost $140 ($150?) for an hour. Told her I had emailed with the specifics, and I asked to speak with a technical person for a few minutes first, to get their view on my issues, whether they could solve it, and if so, how long it might take. My laptop was so slow, it would have improved my life more being used as a door stop. I didn't want to give up on her though and buy a new one.
