Every chimney needs some TLC, and the best way to supply it is with CSIA- and CCP-certified technicians who are experienced in all manner of chimney services.
If you have used your fireplace regularly in the past without experiencing any problems, a Level 1 inspection is appropriate. With a Level 1 inspection, our chimney technician will examine the readily accessible portions of your chimney with a flashlight, examining all areas of your chimney and flue that can be viewed without any special tools.
If you are making any changes in the way you use your chimney, such as changing the type of fuel used, relining the flue, or if you've had any accidents or external events that may have caused damage, a Level 2 chimney inspection is needed. If you've had a building fire, chimney fire or an earthquake, you need to have a Level 2 inspection performed.

Justin was just here to evaluate our chimney cap as we are having a lot of cold air and sometimes rain come into our gas fireplace. I got up on our roof during a rainy morning, took pictures, and examined the chimney on the outside as well as inside. He did a very thorough job, and explained everything in detail. He was on time and courteous. He set up our appointment to have the appropriate work done. I have been extremely pleased with High's Chimney service. Excellent work by Justin!

Their communication was mediocre--due to weather, the job took longer than expected and was spread out over more days. They didn't communicate when they would need to return or when they were actually done. However, the job was done well and there is no longer water coming in through my chimney, so I'm very happy.

Had 3 chimneys cleaned for $777. Had additional work quoted in excess of $5200 and tech said if you schedule the work your cleanings will go towards the additional work quoted. Called to schedule work 3 weeks later and was told only 1 cleaning would be credited($239) because only one of the chimneys had repair work over $1K. I called tech to confirm what he told me(3 free if scheduled). He confirmed and said he'd call the office. He called back and said "they said they'll split it with you". Ask for Tyrone and Allen by name. We had High's in for a cleaning and inspection, on recommendations from two very critical friends, before we put our Olney home on the market. I can't compliment Tyrone and Allen enough on professionalism, friendliness and cleanliness during a very messy job (think Mary Poppins).
We went from gas back to wood years ago because our daughters needed the wood-fireplace experience and didn't expect much build-up because we aren't heavy users and burned hardwood.
We didn't have much creosote but Tyrone's video inspection camera showed that a mortar joint in the flu

These guys are absolutely awful. I contacted them because I wanted a fireplace insert. Their guys insisted that our chimney needed refinished and thousands of dollars of other work first, but that they'd be able to install an insert right after (3 days) that work was done. It's been weeks since they did that work was completed and I've gotten no information about installing a fireplace insert, despite many requests for the same. I feel scammed - called them for one thing - They had another thing they wanted to sell and now that they did, they don't care about what I want / what

I highly recommend Highs - they have excellent customer service, they show up on time, their prices are reasonable, and they are very thorough.
They came through for me when the other chimney service I used did not do a complete job and even broke a piece on the chimney cap and then refused to come back to do it right. I am selling my house and after trying (and failing) to get the original guy back before the next inspection, I called Highs with a 2day window to get it done. They showed up the next day and did a fantastic job, including repairing the chimney cap.

I had Louis Aguilar of High's Chimney Service install my TULA wood stove about 18 months ago. This was a fairly complex installation due to some necessary and critical angles in the chimney and they did a great job. Recently Louis came back to do an inspection and cleaning of my chimney.

We took a chance oh High's Chimney service. And, I am so glad we did. For months my wife abd I were searching for a wood stove insert for our fireplace. Luis Aguilar recommended the Regency I2400. We love it! I couldn't recommend High's Chimney enough for chimney sweeps, fireplace inserts, masonry work in Northern Virginia. Omar, Miguel, Jorge and Dennis were on time, very professiinal and most importantly they left no sign tthat they were ever in our house. Like their product line, their service is superior!

I made an appointment to get our fireplace flue repaired and our dryer vent cleaned out. When I had called a few weeks earlier and spoke with Evelyn I distinctly remember giving her my phone number - she said she currently had what is my husbands. She took down my phone number and set us up for 9am-11am. Great polite and friendly employees, from the switchboard to the installers. Decided to get a regency wood stove instead of relining my chimney. Talk about quick turnaround, put in the order with Luis who came by to inspect the Chimney on Monday and the unit was installed Tuesday. Valentine and his crew did a great installation and cleanup job as promised by Luis. Everyone was on time, would definitely recommend Luis, Valentine and the crew.

I had a horrible experience with High's and can't recommend the company. Their technician was friendly, but all he did was take apart my gas stove and clean the logs. When he left, my gas stove didn't work. When I called him, he said he would order a part to fix it and asked me to reschedule another appointment for an additional $250 (I had already paid $250 for the 1st visit.) I got a call the day of the 2nd (weeks later) visit saying the wrong part had been ordered. I never heard from Highs after that, so I called and asked for my first $250 back. Get a second opinion if you use this company and they quote you major work. I called them for a routine cleaning of my chimney after having a squirrel's nest in there about a year ago. The nest fell into the fireplace, squirrels and all, but I thought there might still be some debris remaining. They told me I still had a nest--and that it was now compacted--and that they couldn't even get their poles up the chimney because of it. They also told me I needed to reline my chimney at a cost of about $2,600. They said it would take at least $500 to deal with the nest. I called another company
