Cherie, a Washington state Certified Women's Owned Business owner, has traveled to clients' homes, providing a full array of salon, spa, yoga, fitness and coaching services for more than 20 years now. Originally established in 2000, "Cuts on Wheels" a mobile hair salon began the journey.

Every hair service includes a personalized consultation to help accentuate individual style and create a design and/or color that can be replicated at home. This is followed by an aromatherapy scalp massage to help the client begin that feeling of being pampered. The services conclude with a hot towel and free make-up touch up.
Sugaring services include Hungarian mud and foot reflexology to help clients enter that true state of relaxation. Tired of shaving? Is hair growing where it didn't use to? Alexandria Professional Body Sugaring (TM) is a much gentler, safer, and truly progressive method of hair removal for all parts of the body.

Kelli is an awesome stylist. I can't believe that there aren't more reviews of her excellent work with color and cut. I give her the reigns to cut and color my hair and she always makes it look perfect. She listens and learns about what I want so each time I go in, it's a great experience. Love you, Kelli!

Cherie is amazing! I called hoping for a same day appointment for my 4 year old daughter. She had already left the salon but offered to meet us back there in 15 min. She gave my daughter her first real haircut and made it a really special experience with a shampoo, perfect bob cut, blow dry, sparkles on her hair and a treat at the end. She was incredibly good at putting my daughter at ease. All that and the price was perfect at $18, compared to $30 and up for "kid salons" which have, in my opinion, unnecessary frills like video games and Barbie jeep chairs. Will be a regular customer

I tend to be one that procrastinates on getting my hair cut, for a couple of reasons: 1) it's not my favorite way to spend my time, indeed there are MANY things I'd rather do, and 2) I like my hair long and stylists tend to cut too much off so I enjoy my length for as long as possible and wait until a day when I'm ready to deal with a disappointment of too much taken off.
Well that day came when I was headed to a special event and I knew my layers were out of control and thought it would be nice to have my hair taken care of and figured it would be ok if it was a little too short

Since I have 2 left hands when it comes to using tools on my hair, I decided to let a professional teach me and made an appointment with Sarah at Essence Salon.
The atmosphere at the salon is friendly, inviting and "real" and Sarah is a fun and patient teacher. She has a lovely personality and a lot of spark and she certainly knows her way around a curling iron.
The stylists at Essence also work on wigs for cancer patients -- what a wonderful service. Highly recommended.

I started seeing Cherie after being with the same stylist for nearly 13 years. The cut was amazing cut! thank god.
She tries hard to please and does this by listening and looking at photos of celebrities, friends or whatever it takes to get the look right.
I'm diggin my hair and wish I would have switched a long time ago.

Went on a whim because my hair needed a cut. Badly. I emailed to schedule an appointment for a Monday and my appointment was confirmed within minutes. A stylist was called and met me in the empty salon later that evening.
This was very accomodating and I appreciated their willingness to get me in asap, eventhough it appeared that the salon itself was closed.
The stylist was very pleasant and my cut turned out great, despite the fact that she cut it shorter than I had envisioned. Even still, I am happy with the outcome.

Went to be a "sugar model" recently with my pseudo mom and sisters.
I have never been into such a really comfortable salon before. It was really small and cozy, and they offered me and my sisters some beverages while we waited. Really friendly atmosphere.
The sugaring itself went very well. It didn't hurt as much as waxing, and the ladies who were doing the sugaring were very kind and seemed to know that they were doing.
I do hope I am able to visit again soon, this is a pretty great place.

After over a year as a waxing "model" with wax-on spa, a new experience for me yesterday: sugaring model.
With my daughters and pseudo-daughter in tow yesterday, we headed out to Essence to get some sugaring. Might as well make it a family affair, yeah?
An unassuming, cute little shop with a true feel of being a part of "family" is the very essence of Essence. We were warmly welcomed, offered drinks (coffee, tea, juice, cider) and whisked right to work.

Imagine a scene from Queen Latifah's Beauty Shop: women, friends and complete strangers, alike all up in the salon just hanging out, having a great time together, all while getting did!
Lindsay and Cherie have a way of making everyone who walks in feel comfortable and fabulous in their salon! The environment is real chill and a lot of fun - it's easy to feel like this is "your" place when you're getting all done up!
I love that I get a hand massage after my eyebrow sugaring sesh with Lindsay! And, I cannot tell you how much I love their sugaring maintenance program

This was my first visit to Essence, got the deal on Groupon Now for a haircut and style. My stylist was Lindsay, She was fantastic! I always hate it when I have no idea what I want and am given no guidance. Lindsay diagnosed my hair issues and I left with a stunning mane! She was very sweet and will definitely be coming back.
I urge others to try Essence and ask for Lindsay, You won't be disappointed! :)

The people know who you are on a personal level and therefore, they know how to cater to your needs. I met with Lindsay, one of the salons employees for a consultation and she was great! She isn't pushy and she does something that not many hair dressers do...she LISTENS!!!! She will sit with you and go over the contract with you so you know what to expect. One thing I was VERY impressed with is that they do on-site

I have been going to Essence Salon for three years now, I originally tried them out when I got a gift card for my birthday, and I was hooked. I have gotten my hair cut by the owner, Cherie Hershman, and her employee Lindsay Bloom. They are both extremely personable, and do a fantastic job on my hair, listening to what I want, and giving good suggestions as well. If I have ever get home and notice a spot that isn't exactly what I wanted, they are happy to have me come in and fix it right away with no extra cost to me.

Popped in here for a quick visit and had a lovely time. My bangs have never looked better! The employees and the owner are super friendly and you can tell they work and get along like family. Another customer was there talking about how she makes the commute all the way from Tacoma and I can totally see why. Customer service is key here and the vibe is that of hanging out with your girlfriends while getting a haircut, a style, a sugaring treatment, a brow tint, etc.
