It is with sadness that we announce the death of Former State Assemblyman George Richardson on Sept. 24, 2021. Former NJ Assemblyman George Richardson was a lifelong fighter for civil rights and the dignity of all people. He played an important role in the history of Newark and was essential to the rise of African American political representation in the city.
When it comes to your final arrangements, shouldn't you make the decisions? The arrangements you make will reflect your exact wishes and desires. Meaningful memorialization of a loved one's passing can transform, heal, and comfort us. It highlights our loved ones' sacrifices, reminds us of the things that they value, and inspires us with their life stories. Have the Talk of a Lifetime, a program created by The Funeral and Memorial Information Council, was designed to help families have meaningful conversations about the things that matter most in their lives.
The basic Military Funeral Honors (MFH) ceremony consists of the folding and presentation of the United States flag to the veterans' family and the playing of Taps. The ceremony is performed by a funeral honors detail consisting of at least two members of the Armed Forces. The Funeral Honors rendered to you or your veteran will be determined by the status of the veteran.

Horrible horrible experience. The funeral was supposed to happen after zuhr, but ended up happening nearly 2 hours later. This lady named Khadija kept lying to us about what time the body would arrive and about how they couldn’t find the keys to the funeral car, all while taking Allah’s name. They were coming up with all kinds of excuses as to why they were running 2 hours behind schedule. As if dealing with the grief of death isn’t enough, they made organizing the funeral a horrific experience. Avoid this place under any and all circumstances.

Very dishonest people, full of lies , instead of providing solace at the time of grief after loosing a loved one you have to bear the lies of a particular lady, Kahadija, supposedly the incharge of the whole process, from picking up the body from hospital to bringing the body for Namaz-e -Janaza, one lie after another, as they say, to cover one lie you have to tell 10 different lies.

It saddens me to write these, specially for a company that provides end of life rites for loved ones. However, as a company that provides such services, you’d expect them to go an extra mile to assist families in their times of grief. Unfortunately this funeral home didn’t come close to even being satisfactory. They lied through their teeth regarding their timelines, processes. People were waiting to offer janaza and for an hour and a half after Duhr jamaat they basically held the body hostage because “one driver left for another services with keys to both trucks”. The web of lies a certain

Extremely unpleasant experience. The staff, especially Khadijah, gave us such a difficult time when it came to the funeral of my loved one. They delayed their janazah for hours and on top of that lied repeatedly to cover up their mishaps. Everything was so disorganized and stressful. I would never recommend this funeral home to anyone.

I am currently using my third google account to highlight how terrible the experience was here. We were informed by Khadijah that the driver would bring our beloved to our masjid promptly by Zuhr (1:30 PM). The driver arrived at past 3:30 PM. We were told lies upon lies about what is going on and the ETA. I would stay far away for the sake of your families and loved ones. The wheels spinning but the hamsters dead.

Firdous Funeral Chapel has handled several janaazas for my family. The service and care was outstanding each and every time. My family was able to get through very difficult times with the concern and attention to detail Firdous provided for us. Alhumdullilah! May Allah (SWT) give them continued success. Ameen!
