Coppola's Deli

Not your typical deli. Their menu offers many unique sandwich combinations in addition to other items. Small store with only 4 tables and some stools. Well worn interior. Only street parking in a crowded area. Sandwiches we had were on delicious baguette bread, but I was disappointed that my Italian sausage sandwich did not come as a link, but cut into many slices.

Been going here for at least 25 years. Authentic deli with high quality meats and excellent combination of ingredients. My fav is the grilled Industrial! Yummy!!! Tom Roukous does a fabulous job keeping the tradition alive in Carytown.

This steak bomb is stupid delicious. They also make the best homemade lasagna (when it's available) and cheesecake. Their pesto pasta is a great option for a lighter dish. One of my favorite spots in Richmond.

After 6 different days of attempting to find a close parking space with no luck, I finally snagged a spot and was looking forward to lunch at Coppola's. I have been eating there since 1985 and it used to be one of my favorite places.
I ordered my usual: grilled smoked turkey with a bag of potato chips, a ginger ale from the fountain and a slice of cheesecake. I couldn't believe that my tab was almost $24. The cheesecake went up from $4 to 6.99. The sandwich went up and I guess so did everything else. That's closer to what I'd like to pay for dinner.

Great local Italian deli. They known for their sandwiches. They offer their Italian deli meats and cheeses for sale by weight. I have had several sandwiches and have been satisfied by all. Additionally I have purchased deli meat and fresh cheese for home consumption. While not a full sit down restaurant, sandwiches are made fresh upon ordering thus can take time to make at prime meal times especially if cooking of components are needed. If you are short for time, order ahead.

Very nice customer service. The gentleman that took my order was extremely nice.
I ordered a Reuben Sandwich w/extra cheese & potato salad.

Limited seating inside but they had about 5 extra tables outside. Who doesn't like to eat outside, right?

The gentleman that brought me my food was also very nice. Unfortunately it didn't appear to have the extra cheese I ordered. No big deal, they took my plate and made it right, no issues. Ty for that.

The sandwich was very tasty/flavorful. The red skin potato salad was ok. Potato salad is missing some seasoning

This place deserves all the hype. It's a bustling little deli, with fast and friendly service. I ordered the fresh mozzarella sandwich, and it was everything I wanted for lunch. Would definitely recommend stopping by if you're in the area!

Just ate my first to-go order after having had lunch here quite a few times and it was great! Food was hot, with the cheese on my hot turkey sub still melty and good, potato salad was nice and cold. The person behind the register is always above and beyond kind and today was no different, even though they looked pretty busy when I arrived.
This is my favorite and first choice for lunch when I’m on Cary and I’ll definitely be back, many even later this week. :)

Super delicious sandwiches!!!!!! Five stars for great food. Minus one for a little bit dingy and dirty facility. It's an old building, but the dining room could stand to get some TLC. Will be back again for sure.

When I die bury me under Coppola's Deli please. I can't begin to explain how delicious the subs are especially the Smoked Turkey on a fresh baguette. 11/10. This is my first Yelp review but I'm BUZZING over this place. One more sentence to top it off, this place slaps....end of discussion.

So good! My boyfriend got the Industrial and I got the grilled smoked turkey, and they were both delicious. We also got cannolis which were good and the potato salad and antipasto salad, which were also good. Most of all, we loved the ambience of the shop and the tables outside! Overall a great experience

A fine deli making rocking sandwiches. Perfectly located for walking the strip. Many choices available. Our hoagies were wonderful. A great pick when downtown.

Coppola's is a strange beast. It's a New York deli in a Southern town, and an institution in a rapidly changing neighborhood. But it manages to pull off its fish-out-of-water identity with grace, delicious food, and kindness.

If you're an out-of-towner, have no doubt Coppola's is the real deal: You don't stock Dr. Brown's celery soda unless you're deep in the game. This is my favorite sub/sandwich shop in RVA! Everything I've ordered here has been delicious and I love that everything is super fresh. My go-to sandwich is their chicken, bacon and ranch; I think it's called the Rancher (it's not on the menu). But I also love their honey turkey sandwich and their cheese colombo. You can't go wrong with any sandwich you order here. They've been in business for so long and I hope they never go anywhere because they are such a loved local staple in Carytown.

They have been my favorite Richmond deli for over 20 years!!! I currently love my speciality which is a turkey, pastrami and double provolone on French bread. Simple but so flavorful and beyond delicious!!

Been going here since high school and this place is still going strong and just as good as the first time! Amazing service and people! Since I’ve moved away from Richmond, I always try to stop on in when I am in town visiting friends and family. I took a friend from Roanoke to eat here and he said it was incredible! Love this place! We were working outside today because it was so warm for December and we were ready for lunch. My dad suggested McDonalds for something quick. I said no way and looked up the menu for Coppola's. I ordered online and when I got there, there was a parking place out front and it was ready.
I got the Fresh Mozzarella Sandwich. It is always so good! The bread is perfect. And everything is so fresh and plenty of it.
My dad got the Grilled Smoked Turkey. I know when food is good because he moans when he eats it. It was good!
His wife got the Mediterranean Magic Sandwich. She said it was delicious

SO FIRE I've always wanted to try this sub spot but just never have. Today was the day and I could kick myself for not going in sooner. The bread on the sub alone was enough for me to keep coming back. Perfectly toasted, dense but soft and didn't destroy the roof of my mouth. The meats on the sub were delicious and the cheese was toasted to perfection. It's melted and there are crispy cheese corners that are sooo yummy. Overall definitely recommend! If you're looking for a traditional sub on great bread for a great price this is your spot!

Can't believe it took me this long to finally try out this place from Carytown! My friend and I had just created a list to go venture through the restaurants of Cary town and this was the first stop to hit up.

I'm so glad that we did because I have clearly been missing out! They have a great selection of sandwiches to choose from for their lunch specials. I decided on their Grilled Smoke Chicken sandwich and I have no regrets! The service and service were both quick and the presentation was amazing! It was Instapic gorgeous haha.

After not having been here for 18 years, my husband and I came with our son before dropping him at the airport. I ordered the Industrial sandwich. The perfection between this bread: melty cheese, savory meats and the sweet and hot peppers bring it all together. Skip those chain sub shops and come to this local deli for the best sandwiches you've ever eaten. The interior is small with some outdoor seating. Coppola's Deli is an amazing no frills deli located in the booming part of Carytown. It's a great spot to come for a quick bite before a movie at the Byrd. There are plenty of vegetarian and meat options of subs, salads, pastas, AND they have cannolis! I repeat - THEY HAVE CANNOLIS! I ordered the Italian sub and my husband ordered the meatball sub and they were both delicious! There is plenty of seating inside and usually the have a table of two outside if it's nice. The staff was really friendly and should great patience as I tried to pick a sandwich - it was a hard choice

I was thrilled by this place. I was very hungry and I’m not familiar with Carytown, but I walked past this place and I knew it was the one. I ended up getting some sort of Mediterranean sandwich, and it hit the spot. It had turkey, pesto, lettuce and some other stuff, but I thought it was really good. They have a huge selection of chips, and I ended up choosing a bag that I didn’t like, but that’s on me not the restaurant. I ate here for the first time a few weeks ago. The sandwich amazing and the service even more so. The man who rang us up was so friendly and attentive, so I want to go back just so I can receive great service. The great quality of food just added to my eating experience with my daughter. We sat by the window seat.

Accessibility: One has to take steps down in order to get to the bathroom. It would be a difficult place to navigate if you are in a wheel chair.

Great little deli with lots of sandwich options! Good craft drink selection. Very clean inside. Very nice counter personnel. Bread was fresh, but not toasted/crispy outside as I would expect in an Italian deli. Not a chain. Better/authentic than the other "deli" on the block.
