After reading reviews about terrible customer service, I was hesitant to go here... but I'm thrilled to report that service was outstanding! Seated immediately, graciously. Jerry was attentive and informative about the menu, Aldo was on top of all our other needs, reading my mind about turning a heater on, filling water, any other thing he could possibly do. Meant to take pictures, but blanked til dessert! Had the De Mi Tierra salad... the House Passion Fruit Vinaigrette is amazing, salad light and delicious. Also had the Chuncho (short rib)... so tender and a huge portion on risotto. But

Great food. We had incredibly slow and inattentive service. Other guests arrived after us, were served and finished before we received entrees. It was as if we didn't exist....dirty plates lingered, drinks arrived late after asking twice. I am sure that this was just an inattentive wait staff. Odd because it wasn't all that busy. Sad, because it was a very nice looking place and highly recommended. It would be a challenge to find a reason to go back.

TLDR, I would not go again and would not recommend Mistura to anyone else.
The food at Mistura is ok. It's not amazing and it's not terrible. However when you factor is the price, that's when the food becomes below average. For the raw fish items like the ceviche and the sashimi, the quality of fish is lower than what I would expect at the price Mistura is charging. Moreover, they drown their raw fish is sauce to disguise the low quality of it. We also tried the lomo saltado was fine.
Things really take a turn when you factor in service. While the food does come out quickly, the

So delicious!! What a wonderful surprise this restaurant is! The food is amazing & the plating is dramatic, which makes for an unforgettable meal! We had a party of 8 and ordered TONS of food that we all shared family style and each dish was incredible! The seafood was fresh, the dishes flavorful without being spicy! Yum! I will be back soon!

Promised myself I will return to Mistura if I was ever back in San Luis Obispo! Had the best Peruvian food... ceviches was the best! Drinks were amazingly good! Service was warm and our waiter was knowledgeable. I want to mention I like the decor with hanging and wall plants. Desserts was enjoyable too. One of the few restaurants that I will rave about for a long time!!!

The place looks amazing, I have come to Mistura several times. Some dishes are good, others not so much. Today I was disappointed with my food, it was okay actually it tasted nothing like Peruvian pollo a la brasa. The dessert was so small, they took the churros off the menu and now most of their desserts are some type of mousse. Poor service, not friendly, not attentive, he basically could care less about the guests. I understand the increase in prices due to the pandemic, but paying $23.00 dollars for a dirty martini when the cocktails on the menu were $13 or $14 is overpriced. A bottle of grey

Food 5 star
Service 0.5
Never have I had such exceptionally noticeably bad service at a $30+ per entrée restaurant. I'm not sure that we've ever received this level of poor service.
He wasn't rude. There's that. He apologized a few times even.
Once for not showing up for 15-20 minutes to take our order,
Once for never bringing my wine (my uncle got his beer, so that was a mystery, plus a missed revenue opportunity, the Pinot was good, I might have had two if I'd received my first one before I was halfway through my meal),
Once for not bringing my uncles order until

The interior decor of this place was very stunning. Upon arrival, we were promptly seated and served some peruvian corn snacks.
We ordered the Mistura tiradito, the white fish dish, and the machu picchu for dessert. Everything was very tasty. The nitrogen candy portion of the machu picchu dessert was made at the table, and really added onto the whole culinary experience. Would 100% recommend!

It's took 30 mins for someone to take our order.
I think we were overlooked though it didn't seem like a busy night.
Once we got their attention, our order came out rather quickly. We started with plantains (came with 3 pieces) with a nice cheese topping.
We skipped salad as we started dinner later than expected.
I had the paella dish which is the best seafood dish I've had in SLO. The seafood was not over cooked, rather tender and high quality and flavorful. Usually paella takes a long time when not preordered at a restaurant but not here!
My husband ordered the short rib

Mistera has one of the most interesting menus I've ever seen. It's a bit difficult to decipher but the server was very helpful with the items we were unfamiliar with.
We started with a Pisco Sour which is the famous drink from Peru. It's similar in taste to a margarita but is made from Pisco instead of tequilla, which is a type of potent brandy. We consider ourselves Pisco sour gurus and this one was made to perfection with just the right amount of foam from the shaken egg whites. It was topped with a huge translucent bubble - I have no idea how they did that!

We have been coming to Mistura since its move to the Creamery. We have always liked Peruvian food and I have my favorites. But I must say that yesterday's late lunch was the best I've had there ever. There are some new items on the Anticuchos menu. Besides the Corazón, which is my favorite, they have added Pulpo Parrilero (grilled octopus) and Chichero (pork baby back ribs). Both new items were perfectly executed. The octopus was not rubbery and the ribs had the best texture and flavor. One of our guests who normally does not enjoy pork, said it was the best pork she had ever eaten in

I found this little gem on Yelp since I love trying different types of food. Mistura is a fun, classy restaurant. The staff are great and so attentive. If you're looking for a great Peruvian experience or a date night, I highly recommend this place! We also brought our dog along and sat in the patio.
Pros: the seafood is very fresh. I ordered the escabeche (sea bass) and loved the presentation. You receive large portions of food that are beautifully plated. The ambiance is wonderful and the staff are very knowledgeable about the dishes offered.
Cons: the patio was a real tight squeeze

First time.
Reservations recommended.
Wonderful decor and an extensive menu that offers a bit of everything.
Staff is friendly and helpful with food ingredients and recommendations. Service to table was just enough and much appreciated.
Corn nuts are served courtesy at your table. They are soft not hard and with a nice subtle saltiness.
Drinks are delightful, visually appealing and full of taste.
All of the food presents itself at a high level. Like the drinks, full of taste. Every dish is a delight.
A definite must visit when in SL

Amazing food! The environment is also great for friends gathering or couple dating.
Initially, I was not that hungry, however, the food is so appetizing that I ate more than I expected!
I'd especially recommend "Del Mar" and "Muy Machito special". The first one is octopus leg and the second one is grill rockfish with other seafood and rice underneath.
One thing to mention is that they didn't serve the food fast. We waited for more than half an hour to taste our first entree. But I have to say it's worth the wait!

Mistura is SO GOOD. This was my favorite meal of the trip, the Peruvian food here is superb and phenomenal. If you're visiting SLO, definitely consider this restaurant!
If it's your first time trying Peruvian food, you can never go wrong with lomo saltado, a classic Peruvian dish. The ceviche was fresh and I also enjoyed the lamb shanks, so tender and flavorful. This was my first time trying causa, a potato salad casserole and I definitely want to try more because it was so delicious.
I also highly recommend the Vinicunca, which was the best Peruvian dessert that I've tasted! All

The esthetic of these dishes are crowd pleasers, but they don't always look like they taste. They start you off with these corn nuts that are in yellow paper bags and they were definitely not it, super dry. This place could be a 3.5 or a 4 depending on the food and experience, but I'm going to be nice and rate it 4.
We came here in a big party so we ordered a bunch of food to share and the price wasn't bad for 11 dishes. It came to approximately $60 a person. Reservations were not too bad and the restaurant wasn't actually that busy so I'm going to assume they can take

Paid by card. Mistura is located on the street and offers street parking. I went in with a reservation for 7 people and had no issues being seated right away. We had a whole room inside to ourselves but there is a small patio for outdoor dining (first come first serve for outdoor seating). This restaurant is Covid ready with staff wearing masks.
WOW! The food here is amazing!!! I haven't eaten this well in I don't know how long... Everything I ate was so delicious. Unfortunately I don't remember the names of everything since I didn't order for the group but nothing disappointed

Mistura is a hidden gem- hidden in that you can easily walk past the place for months and not be aware of its existence, even though you live here! The presentation is impeccable, the ambiance is amazing, and the food is delicious. I took my girlfriend and we sat on the patio, which is equipped with an umbrella for each table and ample heaters. We don't eat inside because of covid, but had to walk back through the restaurant on our way out to sight see. The place is like a work of art; a living wall, glowing bar, centered around a bar upon which the fresh fish of the night is displayed. It oozes

Who would have guessed an incredible, authentic Peruvian restaurant can be found in San Luis Obispo?
We stumbled upon this place while looking for potential places to dine at for dinner. Immediately upon entering the decor informs the visitor that this is a special place. The live greenery and colorful accents give the feel of Cusco.
Once seated, I ordered Senor Lomo (lomo saltado) which is my favorite Peruvian dish. Chunks of tender beef, tomato, and onion stir fried in soy sauce and placed on a bed of potatoes sliced "french fry" style with a side of white rice is a traditional Peruvian

Mmmm Mistura...
I made an easy reservation via Yelp the day before and there was no problem checking in. We parked in the tiny creamery parking lot but you can park along the street for free after 6PM.
The restaurant itself it super big and nice. The ambience is maybe a little more formal than casual so dress nicely! We were seated promptly and decided to scour the menu. I will say the menu is extremely confusing and hard to understand since I am not familiar with Peruvian cuisine/dishes. I wish they had pictures on the menu or marks for popular items.
