This place is great! We were looking to have a light meal, since my husband and I had a heavy lunch. We had our little chihuahua with us, so we sat on the restaurant patio. Clean & quaint. Immediately they set up an outdoor heater for us. They brought it close to our table for us. We ordered the garlic cheese bread and a calzone to split. Even though we did not order much, we were really catered to. The hostess, the waitress and ( I believe) the cook came and greeted us at different times. The restaurant was very clean. And the food! Best calzone I ever had! We will definitely be back!

First time we've been there and we will be back! The owner was very personable and the wait staff were all great. We ate outside around the corner, so we could have been easily forgotten, but we had great service. All three of our meals were different and we were all happy as clams! Check it out, you'll be glad that you did!

We went to this restaurant on November 8, 2021. There was a (reasonable) long wait, as the owner explained to us that he did not have enough cooks available that day. The food was so good that it was worth the wait. Judging by the quality of the food, I can only speculate that the "cook" is really a professional chef, highly trained.
Whoever was doing the cooking is a genius. The food was superb and the place was spotless. The servers fawned over you and paid attention to detail.
The owner comes to your table and speaks with you. He is very personable.
A matchless Jewel.

We have been meaning to try this restaurant for while originally my husband went there when it was on the Embarcadero years ago with his parents and back than, is still offering the same delicious high quality Italian food. I had a pepperoni pizza and the bruschetta which was a very good. My husband had the minestrone soup, spaghetti, butternut squash ravioli with a delicious white sage sauce. Plus with an eggplant parmesan which he said is very much like his aunts who is from Italy and makes this on a regular basis. Also you should try their Italian soda definitely good with the meal. We definitely

Flavorless salty dough. Ordered pepperoni, mushroom, olive, tomatoes and garlic. No garlic, cheese was a hardened layer, no flavor sauce couldn't even taste pepperoni? Ceasars salad tasted like the bag you get from a store and about a cup full. The cannoli, were smaller than the tines of a fork. Horrible meal for almost 100.00 that went in the trash...ate 2 pieces.

Thoroughly disappointed with my meal. I ordered take out, and was so upset to see the size and quality of my meal. The piece of salmon I ordered was tiny and served with some small slices of onion and tomato that the menu describes as "sautéed vegetables." So here's Distasios version of a 21 dollar salmon pictured below (picture doesn't even do it justice) . Also served with a tiny piece of bread for an overall 70 dollar meal. For a 21 dollar salmon put a carb source in the actual meal and some real vegetables.
Ps. I feel bad writing a negative review for a small business

Pizza toppings were fine (ordered an extra large, to go), but the dough was very sub-par. Was as if it were a very large pita bread, that had been baked, and so was dry (to the point of being burnt, crunchy, and breaking apart along the outer edges). Nothing "pizza-doughy" about it at all. But for only $18 for an extra-large with several toppings, not a bad deal for a hotel room meal. But not anywhere close to authentic Italian, in terms of the dough.

First time here and the food was excellent. My family and I ordered the clam chowder, an order of mozzarella sticks, cheese stuffed raviolis, and a lasagna all which didn't disappoint. The owner even came by to personally greet us and make sure all the food was up to standard. The only thing We didn't like was the rude lady in a blue dress that sat at the table next to us. She was being rude to the waitress and expecting things to be done to her standards.

Worst Italian food we have ever had. I Door Dashed a large order - 11 items to be exact, while vacationing in Cayucos/Morro Bay Area. The only items half way decent was their salad and cheesy garlic bread. Someone must have poured a cup of wine into our chicken Marsala and forgot to cook it down. All we tasted was an overwhelming taste of alcohol and not the good kind. The clam chowder was runny with no taste whatsoever. We rarely ever throw out food to avoid waste. However, the food we received was barely edible. 90% of the food was uneaten and thrown out. May be they had a new cook, the

Flavors were good, but the portions were tiny for the price. Halibut came with 4 asparagus sprigs. Salmon came with a dish of over grilled mixed veggies. Shrimp scampi had maybe 8 shrimp. Canoli was not good. Overall, not impressed. We all left feeling a little unsatisfied, which shouldn't be the case with a $200 bill.
We had a party of six, sorry I didn't list what each person ordered

This food was so good, that I ate there twice in 3 days. My family can't stop talking about this place. It is the place that all Italian food is being compared to.
They use fresh ingredients and every dish that we tried has a perfect marrying of flavors. This is a family owned and run business. If you are looking for Italian food, this is your place.
The portions are the perfect size.

Do you ever look at the negative reviewers profiles and see that it seems every place they go, they say negative things about? Had a nice dinner here tonight with my wife. Started off with a chicken Ceasar salad and that chicken was seasoned perfectly. Was so good. Then the main course came and everything just had great flavor. A little doughy on somethings but still had a great taste. Im not a big yelper but I do look at photos of the food before ordering. Was a great evening here and had great service.

Had a great meal here, and great friendly service from Dee (Deanna?). She pointed out that it is possible to order smaller portions ( but plenty of food!) of two entrees, which my husband did: spinach tortellini, and a personal pizza! I had the butternut squash in brown butter sage sauce. All of our food was top notch, which I had not expected (we didn't have a chance to look at reviews first). We traded bites of all and both thought all of the food was really well-done. We are usually pretty picky! We also had a bottle of Coppola Merlot and it was surprisingly very good. We would come

As a food delivery driver, I kept walking into Distasio's and kept smelling mouth watering food. I grabbed up my husband and went there to have dinner. I was greeted and sat immediately. Hot bread, butter and cold water was placed on the table and we ordered a bottle of local wine. They have a extensive menu but we decided on a calzone, cannoli, manicotti and bruschetta appetizer. We were in food heaven. So darn delicious. We even had a chocolate mousse cake for dessert.
I would go back to this Restaurant a heartbeat. The food is scrumptious, service extraordinary, (Deana was our server

Cute and affordable Italian cuisine in Morro Bay. The owners are every sweet and the food is super tasty!
We ended up doing a chicken Alfredo and spaghetti and meatballs. The spaghetti sauce has a little spice to it, which we love.
Please stop by and support this local business if you’re a local or make it a place to stop if you’re in town. You won’t regret it!

I really wanted to like this restaurant (haven't been to them since their new location) and it was so-so.
First the food:
The pizza was a nice thin crust and loaded with toppings, really good.
The antipasto salad was mostly lettuce with just a few pieces of salami chunks and cheese. This was an overpriced garden salad disguised as antipasto
Garlic cheese toast: Yum
Mozzarella Sticks are rubber hard overcooked smallest serving of 5 small pieces
Now the pickup:
I had a special promo on door dash and honestly the company (door dash not the restaurant) rips you off with so many fees. So I

When reading reviews about coming here we read some of the 3 star reviews and after eating here all I can say is what in the world were they complaining about? The food was amazing and dessert well if I could I'd have had 3 x the spumoni ice cream cake! It's a gotta try dessert! Trust me we will be coming back and the only thing I'm not happy about is that it took us so long to try this place out! And the service was top notch also!!

We ordered take out and our order took a while to get picked up however extra good vibes from the chef Mark - he left us a kind note which was a nice touch of thoughtfulness. Such small acts reflect the spirit of the place. Hope to be able to dine in when I visit again.
Also the food got to us and was tasty. Thank you for being a part of our visit experience at Morro bay.

Last evening was the second Yelp's Big Night In which promotes local restaurants by ordering take-out or delivery. We had sushi the first event, so we thought, "Let's try Italian for the second event!" We phoned in our order to a very pleasant young lady, and was told it would be ready in thirty minutes. Perfect!
