At Blue Sky Bistro we contribute to local schools, community and environmental organizations along with many non-profits to raise money through gifts, donations and participation in events and fundraisers. We have built our business on the spirit of supporting and giving back to our community.

Was close to my hotel, and one of the places serving breakfast. I live the atmosphere. I took a table right on the walkway...in front of me were several boats tied up at the harbor, with the Motto "Rock" right in front of me. They had a menu item called "The Rock"...I thought "why not" and gave it a try. Ahhhhh...sitting in the edge of the ocean, enjoying a steaming cup of coffee with a bacon and egg break feast dish piled high...so relaxing!! Definitely will return!!

The place looked really nice and had a good menu so we thought we (party of 3) stop here for lunch. They were not busy. We were seated, given menus and waited... waited... waited... and ignored for 20 minutes. We got up to leave and the people there just walked by without even looking. We walked less than 5 minutes and found a nicer place (Dutchmans Fish House).

The location of the place can't be beat. Outdoor seating offers great views of the bay. Service was fairly quick but not very attentive or friendly. No one came to refill drinks or ask how we were doing. Food was rather mediocre. Noticed the salad was missing avocado as well. It's a decent and convenient place to grab lunch or breakfast if you're in Morro Bay but don't expect much.

I really didn't want the only review on my account to be negative, but I had to say something. Apparently this business has just changed ownership and all the old employees are gone.
I went there today for brunch with my partner and dog. We sat outside on the further end of the tables. Our server was not attentive and we waited over 10 minutes to order.
Once our food was brought out, we realized one dish (veggie scramble) was missing avocado and our server didn't think it was part of the dish, but it was listed in the description. But she did bring some out to us. I also got a side

Sorry I never give 5 stars, however this place was really great ! Mike our server was kind and very attentive !
Food was great. Wasn't too crazy for the lobster bisque. Wasn't bad, but I've had better. Needed a bit more flavor.
These were my Blue Sky Benedict and I loved it ! Awesome patio view of Morro Bay Rock (volcanic plug)

Well, one of my favorite spots, Blue Sky Bistro, has sold. Slappy something, Inc. is now the new proprietor and they are off to a bad start. It was slow when I went--even the one server I witnessed agreed, and yet it took FOREVER to get coffee (no offer of a refill), longer for someone to take my order and unacceptably long for my breakfast to arrive. I finally asked for it to be delivered in a to go container and paid my bill as soon as it got to my table. The menu is still the same and my Benedict traveled home ok, but I'm fully prepared to watch a great menu turn into something awful and

Sadly I am updating my review, this place has new ownership. All the normal employees have left from what we had been told by the waitress and the only reason I asked was due to the food and dirtiness of the place. It was so dirty that I couldn't eat. When I did take a few bites because I was starving it was so bad. We use to adore going to this place. I do not believe it will be a lasting iconic food place it had been for all the years I've lived here. So sad.

This waterside eatery really could get 5 stars, but the day we were there was a very cool morning and jnside seating is very limited. We were unsure where to go when we entered as the hostess is outside overseeing outside dining. We stood around confused until a busser pointed us to an open table. Then we were able to move again when another opened up. Most diners seemed happy to be outside wearing jackets with a gorgeous bay view of Morro Rock.

Absolutely love this place their food, service, and overall polite staff. I have taken my kids here a couple times. They sit right on the water and their food is delicious. I recommend trying their hot pastrami sandwich and the eggs Benedict. Best part is they serve the eggs Benedict all day. We will definitely be coming back here for years to come. Good food, polite staff, and good atmosphere right next to the water. Would definitely recommend trying this place out!

Lunch on the waterfront featuring a BLTA, spicy chipotle grilled cheese (John Montagu), chicken sandwiches, and a 1/2 pound burger. The grilled cheese is the best I've ever had! You cannot beat the combination of the grilled sourdough, grilled onions, tomatoes, avocado slices, and chipotle puree on top of gooey cheddar. My youngest said their mushroom swiss burger is by far his favorite of any restaurant. Great food and beautiful bayside view.
